Couch to 5k

So, I've always been the chubby girl.  It's just kind of been a fact of my life.  I've had ups and downs with my weight since I was in high school, and I'm now in graduate school. The first time I felt fat was at age 10. The first time my mom ever said that I needed to start being careful about food was at age 13.  I've always had an excuse. I'm ( Read more... )

Good luck, kiddo! Do you think early morning running would be better during the summer weeks? Or are you doing your running indoors? I want to run outside, but I'm wary of the temperature and humidity.

Hahahah! I was totally confused about how you got my email address. : ) I've been doing my running in the afternoons, indoors. However, it gets really warm (read: HOT AS H-)in my apartment and there is very poor airflow. I didn't get to run yesterday because I was sick most of the day.

I will say this, I'm disgustingly sweaty after I finish, regardless of the temperature. I think I'm just one of those people who sweats. So, I have to be able to get a shower afterward. I would say that it would be wise to have the option after your first run in case you are the same way. (Who wants to spend the entire day sweaty?)

It also gives me TONS of energy afterward. About 35 minutes afterward, when I'm done shaking which I do anytime I have strenuous exercise, I have to move around. It's pretty cool considering how tired I am most of the time.

I'm going to try taking my dog for a run some time soon. : )

Are you still in Cleveland?

This is awesome! I'm really proud of you, Kristen! I wish I was living in TN because I really need some motivation in that area as well. My weight has really gotten out of control in the last five years. I bet your stubbornness will pull you through :) You've kind of inspired me to get back on the bandwagon too.

Thank you my dear! If you want, you could get a sparkpeople account (they're free), and we could encourage each other on there.
