I did a good thing today.

Annette gave me a handful of cards not too long ago for the MISS Foundation's Kindness Project.  The concept of this is to do anonymous random acts of kindness, in honor of and in memory of a loved one who has passed away.  It just seemed like such a beautiful tribute to Ava, and such an awe-inspiring way to keep her memory alive...to be able to do ( Read more... )

Lorraine, I don't know if you'll check back to see this response, but I e-mailed my Aunt Laurie and asked her to thank you...I don't know if I can thank you enough. I forwarded all of this to my sister and Mom -- and it meant so much to us to hear from you. It just gives us so much faith that everything works out according to some reason, usually for reasons we just aren't meant to understand. Thank you so much for letting us know what an impact Ava made on someone else's life.

(I don't feel like I was very eloquent here...I've gotten teary every time I've logged on tonight!)

What Can I say?! anonymous June 19 2006, 22:17:57 UTC
First off, I can't believe how small this world is! Second, I want you to know how much this means to me. It feels so good knowing that Ava impacted so many people in such a big way. I was thinking about adding Ava's website address to the back of the cards so that people who recieved a card could find out more about her. I hope that some good can come out of this whole experience. It has been so emotionally and physically draining, but it has brought so much strength and appreciation as well. I want the world to know about Ava and how much love she brought to us in such a short amount of time. I think she would be proud of us for going this far. ~Annette

Nette -- I love you. Ava would be so proud to have you as her Mommy, to know that you have already done so much in the past few months to keep her memory alive, and to make such a difference in the lives of so many strangers in the process, between “Ava’s Angel Bears” and these Random Acts of Kindness cards. She’s inspired us all to be better people, and to do what we can to make some kind of difference in the world, in her honor. That’s Ava’s legacy.
