Upon waking...

The wolf is sitting in the corner of Renji's room, waiting. It has been staring at the motionless ninja for almost an hour now. "I think he's going to wake up soon." Ryuu says, sipping at his tea. "That wolf hasn't moved for quite some time." After another moment, and two more sips of tea, Ryuu stands and walks over to where Renji and Minabi are

Minabi's body is tired, but her head has been spinning ideas around - recalling things she covered under her skin and heart, things she knows she should tell him. thinks he needs to know. Her heart aches with remembering, with feeling flashes of things she can't ever have and would never wish upon anyone.

She sits up carefully - his body has been telling her he was waking up, but she wasn't listening. Her voice is horse and tired. "I don't know if I'm going to be okay after this, depending on what happens."

Because she doesn't know what he's going to do. And that makes her scared.

"...he's going to be so angry with me..."

"That may be true. He could be very angry with you. I could be wrong, but I feel most of the yelling will be at me." Ryuu pauses, sipping his tea again, and then takes a breath. "I don't know if he is going to be okay after this. This is big. And I left it to you to tell him, not interfering in hopes you would realize that he had to know sooner rather than later. But now it has come to this."

He sips his tea again, barely able to get out a few sentences without his throat hurting. But she needs to hear this. "They know, Minabi. I don't know who else knows but if this has reached the Mountain House, who knows where else it has made it's way to. We have to assume that this information has leaked, and more people are finding out every day. They will come for you, Minabi. And they will come for Renji. And when this baby is born, they will come for the baby. He has to know."

Ryuu coughs, then stands, and walks out slowly. He pauses in the doorway, "I'll leave you for awhile." And then walks to his office.

She sits up slowly and pulls her knees up, warping her arms around them and resting her chin on them. After a moment, she reaches down and grabs his hand - letting her chakra seep out with a soft breath. The baby wines in her stomach, chakra turning - hungry and tired. Minabi feels exhausted, but she needs to do this.

God she's going to cry - and she's not going to be able to hold herself together when he gets angry.

She can do this though. She has to. She should have told him years ago - when they first kissed, when this first happened. He deserves to know. She breathes out, heavy, from between her knees and steady herself.

The wolf picks it's head up, and whines - soft. It looks to Minabi, then back to it's master, and whines again.

Renji's hand twitches around hers, and his eyebrow twitches. His breathing changes, and his chakra starts pulsing out of him in uneven beats.

The door slides back open, and Ryuu steps in quietly, closing the door again behind him. "I just want to get some details out of the way before you two talk. I won't be long."

Renji groans, soft, and mumbles something neither Ryuu or Minabi can understand.
