She sits up carefully - his body has been telling her he was waking up, but she wasn't listening. Her voice is horse and tired. "I don't know if I'm going to be okay after this, depending on what happens."
Because she doesn't know what he's going to do. And that makes her scared.

He sips his tea again, barely able to get out a few sentences without his throat hurting. But she needs to hear this. "They know, Minabi. I don't know who else knows but if this has reached the Mountain House, who knows where else it has made it's way to. We have to assume that this information has leaked, and more people are finding out every day. They will come for you, Minabi. And they will come for Renji. And when this baby is born, they will come for the baby. He has to know."
Ryuu coughs, then stands, and walks out slowly. He pauses in the doorway, "I'll leave you for awhile." And then walks to his office.

God she's going to cry - and she's not going to be able to hold herself together when he gets angry.
She can do this though. She has to. She should have told him years ago - when they first kissed, when this first happened. He deserves to know. She breathes out, heavy, from between her knees and steady herself.

Renji's hand twitches around hers, and his eyebrow twitches. His breathing changes, and his chakra starts pulsing out of him in uneven beats.
The door slides back open, and Ryuu steps in quietly, closing the door again behind him. "I just want to get some details out of the way before you two talk. I won't be long."
Renji groans, soft, and mumbles something neither Ryuu or Minabi can understand.
