So, at first, I thought this was about trying to portray Dante's The Divine Comedy as an EA corporate product. This confused me, because I had no idea how one could confuse the former for the latter.
On topic: I haven't read The Divine Comedy in years, so I can't say whether or not Visceral Games/EA is turning it into some God of War clone. Wouldn't surprise me if that were the case, though. Looks like I have some remedial reading to do...
I could rant for a little while about how they took a classic literary master piece and, as you stated, turned it into little more than a GOW clone. But I won't. I just wish the game had been more like the poem. Exploration with Virgil instead of a Hack-n-Slash with poor design using the novel as no more that a cheap backdrop.
