If someone said something to you that you thought was in jest but that was horribly offensive and when you joked about it they quickly changed the subject would you be offended? How about if the next day you joked about it again and they, once more, changed the subject immediately ( Read more... )

I would do this...the next time they "joked" about it I would make as serious a face as i could and take a step forward and say "do you have a problem?" Then before they could answer I'd smite them with my club, not the anti-theft device the other one with the mean looking spikes....

Sometimes people do say things they mean in a joking way. Your best bet in any situation is to confront them about it. I have come to appreciate someone telling me straight up what they think of me.

I don't want to smite anyone with a club... I know I have to confront this person, I am just so bad at it. I can never bring myself to say "Hey, this really hurt my feelings" I always need them to figure it out on their own.

I hate having to bring that stuff up because I feel like I'm being mean by telling them. I feel as though by saying "That really hurt me" I'm being weak and I would hate to know that the other person in question will think/say "Oh, you are just overreacting".
