"if you're to be given, let's just say three more days with him... what would you do?"

Chapter 4
Su, Chun, and Min
We’re taking a day off and will be back for tomorrow. Try to cover for us, will you?
And I’ll cook you all something special when we back!

See you guys later!
-Yunho & Jaejoong

Changmin gaped. He had just finished reading the small note left on the kitchen counter. He let out a deep sigh before walking to the refrigerator. He guessed he could at least stuff his stomach with a fresh glass of milk before they went out to have breakfast somewhere.

Oh, and he better wake his hyungs now and tell them to make up some excuses for the lovebirds.

Shaking his head, he made his way to their shared bedroom.

Manager-sshi won’t be happy about this…

“Are we there yet?” Jaejoong eyes started to hurt after a few minutes of being blown by the wind, but he still stuck out his head out of the car window, trying to enjoy as much fresh air as he could.

“No, boo… and for your next question, no, we’re not there yet,” Yunho muttered from the driver’s seat, frustrated. As soon as his relative agreed to lend them his villa, they’ve been driving to the place. Actually, it’s not so far from the city, but the morning traffic had slowed them down for not less than an hour. And the fact that Jaejoong keep asking him useless questions and repeating the ‘are we there yet’s every five minutes… he could pop out anytime right now.

“Ah, but we’ve been driving for two hours! And we’ve reached the mountain already!”

“We? I thought I was the one driving!”

“Well… maybe you’re just too slow!”

“Slow? If I drive faster than this, we might end up crashing into something and die!”

“So be it!”

Yunho suddenly stepped on the brake, making both his body and Jaejoong’s push to the front with Jaejoong nearly hitting the dashboard.

“Are you crazy!?”

“…”

“Do you realize what you’ve just said!?”

“…”

A pregnant silence grew between them as Yunho tried to calm his breath and Jaejoong only stared at the window, arms folded in front of his chest. Yunho stole a glance to Jaejoong, who was still looking at the window. There was some guilt forming on his heart, this wasn’t how he had predicted…

“Listen, boo… I’m so sorry, I’m-“

“It’s me, it’s all my fault, I’m sorry,” still with his head facing the window. Yunho sighed, his eyes softened as he put his hand on Jaejoong’s shoulder.

“Jae…” he started, “I’m sorry, really, I shouldn’t shout at you like that, I just-“

“I’m sorry… I just… I’m totally looking forward to this…” Jaejoong whispered as he leaned back in his seat. “I’m too excited after knowing your plan for today, this is like our secret getaway,” he stressed the word ‘our’, “just you and me, for a whole day long, no one else to interrupt…

“I’ve been expecting this kind of thing since like forever…”

Another silence grew between them, only the sound of passing cars on the road. Yunho’s hand then fell down and grabbed Jaejoong’s.

“Hey…” Jaejoong looked down to their hands and turned his face to him, “I’ve said my sorry and you did too, so how about we forget all of that and start again? After all, it’s only 9 o’clock and we haven’t even reached our destination yet…”

The older guy smiled, “okay, then… once again, I’m so-“

“Nope!” Yunho put his finger on Jaejoong’s lips, stopping the guy, “we’ve agreed to forget it, okay?”

Jaejoong nodded and Yunho replaced his finger with his lips, taking them both into a sweet kiss that didn’t last long but was still so heartwarming, as Jaejoong thought. When Yunho pulled off, a sweet smile formed on his lips.

“I love you, my Jaejoong-ya…”

“I love you too, my Yunho-ya.”

After that conversation and another half an hour drive, they finally reached the place. It was actually quite hidden behind the large trees in front of the wall, but a small old sign near the front door made a good visual. Yunho slowed the car speed as they entered the villa’s front ground.

The villa itself wasn’t that big, only a normal sized house built with bricks, giving off a traditional feeling. The house had two stories and a small balcony in the front. On its sides, there were small flower bushes and some large pine trees planted randomly, giving a natural effect. The owner said that if they followed the small path to the back, they would find an opening for campfire or just laying.

The cold yet fresh mountain breeze greeted Yunho and Jaejoong as they stepped out of the car. From the corner of his eyes, Yunho could saw Jaejoong shiver a bit at the sudden coldness.

“I’ve told you to wear something warmer,” he smiled as he approached the pouting guy.

“Too bad I didn’t hear you,” the older guy stuck out his tongue, then stretched his arms to Yunho, “hug me?”

Yunho let out a chuckle before pulling him into a warm hug, “feeling warmer yet?”

“Yeah…” Jaejoong dropped his head to Yunho’s shoulder lazily, “can we stay a little longer?”

“How about we bring our stuff inside first?” Jaejoong sighed but still followed Yunho’s gesture to pick up their bags from the car. They were not supposed to bring many things, so Yunho, who only brought a backpack, was startled when he saw Jaejoong carrying two sports bags.

“What?” asked Jaejoong with a confused face, “I just want to make sure I wear a good outfit, you know!”

“But we’re only staying for a night, boo… and I don’t mind whatever you wear or even if you don’t wear anything,” the guy chuckled a bit after he said the last part.

“Well I do, now if you would please open the door? It’s getting colder here!”

“Yes, your highness…” Yunho opened the door and let Jaejoong enter first. The older guy stepped inside and looked around with awe.

“Wow, this is nice!” Jaejoong complimented.

The inside of the house was warm and decorated in a homey way. There was a living room with comfy dark brown couches and a fireplace, the kitchen in the corner had a small dining table and four chairs, and the bathroom was under the stairs. From the window in the kitchen, they could see the small path the owner mentioned. The house itself was decorated with wooden floor and furniture.

“Let’s put away our stuff first, the bedroom’s upstairs!” Yunho led the way. Jaejoong followed closely behind him up the stairs to the second floor. The upper part only consisted of two bedrooms and a small balcony.

“So where do I sleep?” Jaejoong looked at the two bedroom doors.

“You’re sleeping with me in the main bedroom,” Yunho answered nonchalantly, “The other room belongs to the owner’s child. Believe me, you don’t want to stay in there, it’s quite messy with toys and too childish decoration,” now Yunho was proceeding to open the bedroom door.

After the door was opened, it revealed the main bedroom. Although it was small, only having a king-sized bed plus two nightstands on its sides, one cupboard, and a small table with a mirror, they could enjoy it. The simple theme reminded why they were here in the first place- to relax and forget all those big city complications.

Yunho dropped his bag on the floor and jumped to the bed, “ahh, I’m so tired!”

Jaejoong only smiled before putting his bag on the cabinet and coming back to pick up Yunho’s.

“Come here, you…” the younger guy tapped the spot beside him. Jaejoong put the bag down first and did as he was told, crawling to Yunho’s side and leaning on his shoulder.

“So what are we going to do now?”

“I’m hungry…” Yunho leaned his head on Jaejoong’s and started caressing it with his left hand.

“Huh? Didn’t you eat anything before we came here?”

“Yeah, but it was only two slices of breads, and it was like 7 o’clock, look what time it is now!” Yunho raised his wrist to show his watch.

“Hhh, okay, I’ll cook you something then, I’m not that hungry yet…”

“So that’s why your waist is always so small,” Yunho pinched Jaejoong’s waist playfully, making the guy jump a bit.

“And you once told me you actually like my small waist?”

“I like all of you,” Yunho kissed the tip of Jaejoong’s nose. The light-haired guy let out a growl before turning his mouth to a cute pout, which only made him get another deep hug from Yunho.

“Aww my boo’s so kawaii!”

“Hey, don’t ‘kawaii’ me, I hate that, it’s sounded so… girly!”

“But you are girly! You have big eyes, red lips, sharp chin, silky hair, small waist, porcelain skin…” Yunho said as he touched every part he mentioned, “you’re prettier than any other girl I’ve ever saw! Not to mention how cute you could be…”

“Pffftt…” Jaejoong stood up and stomped to the door, leaving Yunho grinning. His Jaejoongie’s so cute that sometime he wanted to hug the guy so much. Come to think of it, what he said before was true. He like-no, loved everything about Jaejoong, from the way he smiled, the way he pouts, how his eyes would sparkle in excitement, or how it would cloud with love and affections, for him, of course.

Whether he was laughing or just smiling, annoyed or even sleepy. If his hair was long or short, colored crazily or just its normal black. When he wore complete stage costumes with the right accessories or just a plain white shirt. Everything about this guy was so special for him. If only this world allowed people to reveal their true feelings, no matter how wrong it was; if only there weren’t any borders about genders or sorts, things would be so much easier.

A sound of chopping could be heard from downstairs, bringing Yunho back from his reverie. So Jaejoong must’ve started cooking. The leader quickly stood up after deciding he would help his love. Whatever other people said, he wanted to spend as much time as possible with the one he loved the most.

It was almost dusk when the couple decided to go out after eating, kissing, talking, cuddling, more cuddling, and exploring the house. After making sure Jaejoong wore something that could keep him warm enough, the two of them went to the small balcony. They sat on the small wooden bench, enjoying the last warmth of the sun as it set, coloring the sky and some parts of the upper trees with its soft orange color.

Jaejoong leaned his head on Yunho’s shoulder, letting him playing with some strands of his hair. He knew it was Yunho’s favorite part of him, judging from how he would always bend his head to his just to smell its scent, stroke it, or just touch it.

“Yunho-ya…”

“Yes, baby?”

“Would it be romantic if we have our own love song?”

“Huh?”

“You know, like other couples have, one song that we both like and that represents our relationship… I’m serious!” he added when he saw the way Yunho looked at him.

“I’m serious too, you know… I was thinking what song would represent you the best…” Yunho used his arms to support his weight while glancing at the now more orange sky, “what song do you like?”

“Many,” Jaejoong sighed and also sat up, facing Yunho, “how about we both choose one- I’ll choose mine and you choose yours, then we decide which one we’ll use!”

“Alright then,” Yunho put his hand under his chin and started thinking. Which song should he choose? Their song? Another singer’s song? From inside the country or outside? He stole a glance at Jaejoong, the older guy was closing his eyes and humming something inaudible.

Wait, seeing Jaejoong like that, with a comfortable face and that scenery behind him…

“…Chanranhan jeo haetsarui banjjagim…”

Jaejoong opened his eyes, looking shocked at Yunho, who was smiling at him.

“Did you just sing the first line of Flower Lady?”

“Yes, I did…”

“Yunho…” Jaejoong paused, trying to control his anger, “I’m serious…”

“And I’m also serious,” his handsome smile grew into a playful smirk.

“But it’s Flower Lady! Lady, Yunho, lady! I’ve told you before; I don’t like to be called a girl because I’m not!”

“Just because I look like one, I don’t deserve to be called one! I’m a man for god’s sake!” Jaejoong added, now folding his arms in front of his chest with eyes mirroring his anger. But Yunho only let out a chuckle and pulled him closer to him.

“Listen to me first, okay?”

“Uh…”

Yunho smiled again. Then he took one deep breath just like he used to do before singing.
“La la la la la la la… La… La la da…
…Like the glittering sun;
When a flash of wind whirls around me,
I end up looking for you, who has faded into the scenery,
Why is it this so fragrant, as if this is a dream?”

Even though he can’t see Jaejoong’s face because he was hugging him from behind, Yunho could feel his anger was still there. So, instead of singing it aloud, he moved his lips to Jaejoong’s ears and started singing more softly, just like a lullaby,

“Like flowers my baby, you have been rooted in my heart,”

Jaejoong’s eyes widened at the change at the lyric but Yunho chose to ignore him and continued singing,

“So you can’t go elsewhere…

“Stay with me…” he moved his hand to grab Jaejoong’s “You’re so beautiful…
Shine your leaves; will you always bloom for me?
So only I can see it,”
“Stay, you stay…” he tightened his embrace, “always…”

“La la la… La la la la la la
La la la… La la la la la la
La la la la da …
La... La... La...”

“…I’ll gather all the dampened petals,” to Yunho’s surprise, Jaejoong sang his part. His voice sounded so soft and almost like a whisper, like his own, but there was something special in its tone, he couldn’t picture it with words, but somehow the sound was filled with love, just like his own…

“Fill it with love, and put it upon your lips,
I want to send you my passion;
My love which will never dry, baby,”

“Like flowers my baby,” Yunho continued, “Your natural body language,
Your bright smile, and even your soft lips…

“Stay with me, just by my side,
Blow my heart; will you always bloom for me?
Eternally in my heart, stay, you stay always…” both tightened their hands.

“No matter if the winds blow,” Yunho muttered slowly, “I hope you’ll come towards me,” tears were forming in his eyes as he sang the lyric. He really meant it; when they separate tomorrow, he really hoped that the winds would blow and bring his love towards him.

“I pray that I’ll be the bright sun that makes you laugh,
I pray that I’ll become like the little prince in the fairy tales,

Just for love.” For once, he really wanted to become like those princes in the fairy tales, who always had their happy endings with their true love.

“So stay…”

“Stay with me, you’re so beautiful,” Jaejoong suddenly added, as if he already knew Yunho would pause somehow, “Shine your leaves; will you always bloom for me?

So only I can see it, say, you stay…”

“…Always…” Yunho joined, and they ended up singing together.

“Stay with me, just by my side,
Blow my heart; will you always bloom for me?
Eternally in my heart, say, you stay…?

“Always…

“Stay with me…
Shine your leaves…
Baby just stay with me tonight

“Say you’ll stay…” Yunho ended, now looking directly into the older guy’s eyes.

Jaejoong smiled and bent his head so their foreheads touched, “Always…”

Yunho froze. He can’t bring himself to say anything, or even do anything, but stare at Jaejoong’s dark coal orbs. He found no lies in them; instead he only found honesty and affections. The answer was really truthful.

But Yunho knew better than him, that it was just a mere promise that would soon be broken. There’s no tomorrow for them, there’s no always, there’s no forever, because he knew his time, their time won’t last that long. In about another 24 hours, the promise would be broken, gone away, together with the one he loved.

A single tear escaped his hot eyes; falling down slowly on his cheek.

“Yunho…?”

Yunho backed up a bit and shook his head slowly. No, he won’t let Jaejoong see him in pain. He had promised to make his last three days’ the happiest days in his life, and with that, he couldn’t allow Jaejoong to see him sad, or hell, even cry, because it’ll worry the other guy.

“Yunho-ya, are you okay…?” he could feel Jaejoong’s hands cup his cheeks and his thumb stroke the trail of tears on his left one. Yunho slowly opened his eyes and forced a smile.

“It was nothing, boo… I… just got a bit carried away…”

“You know, you could always tell me anything…” Jaejoong’s eyes were searching through his own eyes, making Yunho feel guilty all of the sudden. He didn’t know if he could lie to this person in front of him. And his worried face was also not helping.

“It was nothing… really…” he added when Jaejoong’s doubts still stuck on his sweet expression.

“I would tell you if I have problems, okay…?” For a second, Jaejoong looked like was deciding whether he should believe Yunho’s words or keep asking him, but he let out a deep breath and changed his worried face into a glad one.

“I believe you…” he said.

“Why shouldn’t you?” Yunho tried to ease the situation.

“Well…” Jaejoong leaned back on the chair, now the sky had already turned dark, the sun was far to the west and soon they’ll have to go back inside to turn on the lights or they won’t be able to see anything. “I don’t know…”

“Oh boo, you really are cute…” Yunho pinched Jaejoong’s cheek, making a pout form on his red lips.

“So if I’m cute, don’t I deserve a kiss?”

“I take it back, you’re sneaky…” Yunho pulled back, laughing, making Jaejoong’s cute pout turn into annoyed one.

“Okay then,” Jaejoong was about to stand up when Yunho grabbed his arm, taking him down to sit on his lap.

“But I didn’t say I won’t kiss you either…” and with that, he pulled Jaejoong into a deep kiss. Jaejoong melted into the kiss and let Yunho take over the kiss, and when he gasped for air, the younger guy softly slipped his tongue inside, deepening the kiss.

The kiss lasted longer than their last one, and when both finally pulled back for air, things around them already turned dark.

“I… I think we should go inside and turn on the lights first…” Jaejoong suggested.

“Right behind you, baby…” Yunho stood up and followed Jaejoong back inside the house.

“See that star?” Yunho pointed up, and Jaejoong’s eyes soon followed it. “I’d like to call it Joongie, because it shines as the brightest in the night… just like you…” he added with a smile.

“Yunho…” Jaejoong sighed, “have you been watching your part in Vacation again?”

“Am I romantic or not?” Yunho let out his million-dollar smile, completely ignoring Jaejoong.

“If that’ll make you happy, then okay…” Jaejoong rolled back onto his stomach. He and Yunho were now lying on a small carpet on the small opening in the back of the villa. They lit up a small campfire and decided to lay there enjoying the night sky and the calm night scenery. Although it was really cold, surrounded by the chilly mountain breeze, both still enjoyed being close to each other.

“…Boineun modeun punggyeonge, seumyeodeun neoreul chatge dwae… -I end up looking for you, who has faded into the scenery.”

“Yunho… don’t start…” Jaejoong sat up and stretched a bit before drawing his hand to the fire, trying to warm himself.

“But it’s our last night, I mean, last moment we spending here… tomorrow morning we’ll have to pack and leave as soon as we can…” Yunho also sat up and scooted near his lover, snaking an arm around his waist and pulling him gently.

“I don’t know… maybe I’m just too tired lately…” Jaejoong rubbed his eyes and let out a yawn, which made Yunho stared at him, chuckling.

“Did I mention you’re ka-cute?”

“Did I mention not to start…?”

“Okay… okay… don’t get mad so easily, boo…” Yunho dropped his body back to the carpet while also pulling the annoyed Jaejoong with him, making him put his head on his chest as the two gazed upwards to the clear dark sky.

“Hey, Yunho…”

“Yeah?”

“If there’s a shooting star, what’ll you wish for?”

“Wish…? Well…”

“What is it?”

“I wish… I wish that time would just stop…”

“Stop?” Jaejoong lifted his head to face Yunho’s, “why?”

Seeing Jaejoong’s innocent face really warmed Yunho’s heart, and it was just so nice that it hurt. Hurt so much; making his heart pound faster than usual- good thing Jaejoong lifted his head. The guy doesn’t know anything and it’s going to be so much better if he didn’t know any…

“Yes, because… It’s just rare for us… to spend time together like this…” Yunho tried to choose his words carefully, because saying the wrong things might result in him ending up being questioned by the curious as usual Jaejoong.

“Now that’s sweet… you know, you don’t have to copy stuff from the others, you being yourself saying your words is more than enough…” Jaejoong said sweetly.

“Really? Thank you…” Yunho gave out his usual smile and let Jaejoong lean his head back on his chest. “no matter what, I’ll always love you… you know that, right?”

“Somehow I knew…” the other guy replied, his voice sounded softer than before, a hint showing that sleep started consuming him.

“I’ll wake you up later… just sleep…” Yunho muttered as he stroked Jaejoong’s hair slowly.

“Mmmhkay…”

Just like before, Jaejoong quickly fell into peaceful sleep, leaving Yunho alone with his thoughts. Only the sound of the fire cracking, combined with some bugs filled the night.

The day had been outstanding for him. He had done the best he could to make Jaejoong happy. And now the time had come, the last night he’d be spending with Jaejoong. Tomorrow, before evening, things would be back like before. He could already imagine what would happen, and how he would do his routine robotically for the remaining days in his life.

Yunho gazed at the night sky, just in time to see a light moving quickly from one side to the other. He smiled to himself. Somehow he really wanted to believe what they said about falling stars was true, that people’s wishes would be granted, but he’s not a child anymore. No matter how many stars fell, he would never get his wish.

Wait, what was he saying? He already got one miracle in his life, and he was supposed to be glad and thankful about it. But some parts of him didn’t feel satisfied yet. He didn’t want to sound egotistical, but looking at Jaejoong, he just would never get enough of him. There was actually no difference between three days, one week, or even one year. He would never be satisfied if it came to spending time with this particular guy.

Soon, Yunho could also felt his eyes closing. The long drive, excitement, and hard thoughts really drained his energy, but he didn’t want to miss any precious second of his last night with his beloved one. Yunho glanced down. After deciding he wouldn’t wake up the guy, he carried him back to the villa. He placed Jaejoong’s sleeping form carefully on one side of the bed while he rested on the other side. For a full minute, Yunho only stared at Jaejoong’s sleeping face, trying to memorize every single detail about him, until he gave up and let sleep take control over him.
