You reach your hand out to the wide night sky upon you, trying to hold them in your grasp, bringing them closer… closer to you…
“Yunho… what would we be after we die?”
You feel his eyes fall on you as he turns his head to your side, “huh? Why so sudden…?”
“I don’t know… I just feel like asking…” you swing your hand up and down, creating random trails on the bright night sky. He turns his head again, now following your own gaze at the twinkling light high above you.
“Well… If you ask me… I want to be a star,” he answers.
“Star? Why?”
“Why? Do you want to know the answer?”
You curl your lips into a pout, “of course I do!”
He only chuckles at your childish act. No, not childish, it’s cute, like what you said to him once. And he likes it. One of your charisma, he told you that day.
Suddenly you feel his hand reaching for yours, moving inch by inch until he keep yours inside his larger one.
“So that I could look after you, even when I’m not around you anymore. I could brighten your night and lighten your way. Protect you from the darkness with my light and shine just right to accompany you to sleep.”
“Because I’m like those stars up there, that may look the same to you, but still watching over you every time. Just like me as a part of those other million people out there who always look after you, even if you didn’t recognize each and every one of us.”
“And when it’s time for the sun, the one star that is matter to you the most, shine, we’ll make sure you won’t see us, but you should know that we’re always there, unnoticed but there, to watch your step and look after you…”
“…haha, what am I saying?” he laughs at himself before glancing at you for a sec, probably noticing your expression, “I should stop, right?”
You only smile at him and shrug your shoulder. He smirks and looks back to the night sky.
Little did he know, he doesn’t have to be a star nor a sun, because he is just as perfect as he is now; shining bright, protecting and guiding you through your days. And no, he’s not just a sun to your life. A star could die, and a sun might settle, but he is more than that…
He is your entire galaxy, he’s became a part of you just like you’re a part of him. As important to you as your own life just like oxygen that you have to keep inhaling to stay alive. He might survive without you, but you won’t without him. Because he is your galaxy; the place for you to holds on and live.
You grasp his hand tighter and mouth to him, “saranghae yo…”
He clutches your hand back before bringing it up to his lips, kissing as he mutters his reply, “nado, Jaejoongie, nado…”
