That's great! I'm going to be thinking "Whedon, you bastard!" at random times for the next week or so now.

As to the thing that it's based on, I haven't actually been able to make it through the Silmarillion, but the summary of the section I keep on reading over and over again, the Ainulindale, is quite appropriate. I keep on giving up reading it during the Valaquenta because everybody seems to have somewhere between 3 to 5 names and I keep on getting confused. Make head go 'splodey-like.
