I want to know why Nintendo refuses to keep up with the region free concept on its consoles.  The DS and DS Lite are region free... Why couldn't they do that with the Wii, too?  America can't seem to import the Naruto Clash of Ninja series without messing something up (aka taking out characters the original Japanese had left in).  You assume

The reason for certain characters and games to not be distributed to the US and/or characters in US games isn't because of region coding but because of licensing. If agreements aren't met between the owners/creators/designers etc than sometimes things/characters/cars/whatever have to be left out
