This is super interesting and kinda highlights for me why Chinese movies/show resonate with me way more than American ones

Did you get the chance to watch Feng Xiaogang's Youth? I wasn't expecting to be moved. I got super teary-eyed at one point in the film, and it stayed with me longer than most movies throughout the weeks. That one and Sylvia Chang's Love Education are my favorite films (Chinese or overall film) so far from last year.

I totally sucked at watching many movies last year tbh lol. Got tired of chasing those drama/movie sites around. But I will keep it in mind for the next time a movie bug hits.

I watched Wolf Warrior and Wolf Warrior 2 a few weeks ago. Neither of them are practically good. I mean, when the movie's director is also the lead actor ... ¯\_(ツ)_ ( ... )

lol, I've gotten a lot of recs from people who like action films, tho. LIke- "if you like/miss action films from the 80s-90s, you're gonna have so much fun with this one." I don't know if they're trolling me. I saw the first one, I didn't think it was particularly bad or good... but yeah, that scene with the wolves made me lol. I don't remember the actual plot having to do with a missing girlfriend, tho?

Are there two cuts?

I think my standards needed to be lower for me to have enjoyed it more.

Oh, no! It's my mistake. The kidnapping part happens either between the two movies, IIRC. The second movie starts and she's been kidnapped and you're like, wtf?? and then you never see her again until the end of the film when she is still kidnapped.
