“Hey Eunnie! Want an ice-cream?” Donghae shouts; running towards the boy sitting on the swings, head bent down.
Eunhyuk looks up and sees Donghae’s panting face, his hand outstretched with a chocolate ice-cream cone. He grins and accepts the cone. Donghae’s pink lips form a smile as he looks on at his loved one, licking the ice-cream gleefully.
Donghae P.O.V
Aww….look at Eunhyuk’s face. He’s so cute…Should I confess to him now? When he is happy? I have felt this love for him for so long…and now may be my chance…unlike last time when Sungmin interrupted…
*Flashback*
“Hey Eunnie! Can I tell you something?” Donghae asks Eunhyuk, who was fully absorbed in the videogame he was playing.
Eunhyuk grunts in reply, his almond eyes still focused on the T.V, his fingers rapidly moving on the controller. “Well…I have felt this way a long time…I l…”Donghae starts saying.
“Eunhyuk! Can I play as well?” Sungmin interrupts, poking his head through the opened doorway.
Eunhyuk turns around and nods as he sees Sungmin’s pleading face. Sungmin whoops and skips over to sit next down as close as possible to Eunhyuk. Eunhyuk hands him a controller before focusing once again to the brightly lit TV. Sungmin accepts but before he too joins in the staring, he smirks in victory at the angry Donghae
*End flashback*
“Grr….that Sungmin…soo annoying…”I shuddered, remembering that brat’s smirk.
End Donghae’s P.O.V
Donghae seats himself on the other swing and starts licking his own white ice-cream. He stops after he notices his surroundings. The sun is setting, its red flames dancing on the pink sky. The trees are moving in the wind, its leaves rustling, creating a soft melody. The flowers are beginning to hide underneath their petals. The scene in front of him was so beautiful, so colourful. This must be a sign…maybe I should confess now. After all this is a romantic moment. Donghae thought to himself, not noticing the person walking towards the pair, walking softly and slowly behind them.
“Isn’t the sunset beautiful?” Donghae asks Eunhyuk. “It’s so beautiful…just like your smile…”he whispers the last bit.
“Umm…Eunnie, can I tell you something?” Donghae asks Eunhyuk, turning to face his swing.
Eunhyuk turns his face also and nods, still licking his ice-cream. “Well…I have wanted to tell you this for a long time…But it was never the right time…Eunnie….I...” Donghae stuttered.
Suddenly someone hugged Eunhyuk from behind. Eunhyuk dropped his ice-cream cone into the dirt in surprise as he turns around to Sungmin’s innocently smiling face whose arms were still around Eunhyuk’s thin waist. “Hello Eunhyuk-ah!” Sungmin greets him.
“AHH!! You made me drop my ice-cream!” Eunhyuk shouts, jumping up and out of Sungmin’s embrace.
“Oh, I’m sorry…I will get you another one…” Sungmin apologizes, standing up from his crouched position.
“No…you can’t. The ice-cream truck is gone” Donghae mumbles, angry that he was yet again interrupted by the annoying Sungmin.
Eunhyuk sighs as he looks down at the mess beneath his feet. Brown splats mixed into the black and grey specks weren’t a very pretty sight. “What about a lollie?” Sungmin asks, trying to save Eunhyuk’s disappointment from increasing. He pulls out white sticks with pink bears on top.
Eunhyuk’s face lights up at the sight of more sugary goodness. He grabs the lollie-pops and unwraps one, putting it into his mouth before handing the other one to Donghae. Donghae accepts, noticing the growing mad expression on Sungmin’s face. He happily sucks onto the lolliepop before Sungmin starts talking again. “Eunhyuk-ah…I have to tell you something!” Sungmin says, putting his hands in his pockets.
Eunhyuk nods, telling him to go on but before Sungmin can open his pretty pink pout again, Donghae butts in. “Me too...Eunnie…I love you”
Eunhyuk drops his lollie-pop into the dirt once again, staring at Donghae. “Me too. I love you Eunhyuk” Sungmin injects into the conversation.
Eunhyuk stares at the both of them incredulously, his mouth hanging wide open. Donghae starts to say something, but before the words could come out, Eunhyuk turns around and runs.
“Wait! Eunnie! Come back please!” Donghae begs him, running after Eunhyuk. Sungmin also joins in the chase, screaming out for him to stop.
Tears flow from Eunhyuk’s eyes as he runs towards the house at the end of the street, their shared house. His and his friends’, including Sungmin and Donghae. They continue to drip down his face as he runs into the house, up the stairs and into his room, locking it. He collapses behind it, sobbing still.
Eunhyuk P.O.V
Why…why do both of them have to? Why couldn’t one of them do? My heart is so torn apart already. I am consumed by loving them both, my heart torn in two directions. Tears flow faster down my cheeks as the amount of water grows. I can hear the banging on the door but I don’t want to open it. I can hear their screams but I don’t want to be subject of their cries. Oh why?
End P.O.V
Donghae and Sungmin bang on the door, shouting at Eunhyuk, telling him to open it but no use. A heavy weight is also blocking them from opening it. “Oi! You two, what have you done to Eunhyuk?” Leeteuk demands, his hands on his hips, standing at the base of the stairs.
Donghae sighs and gives up, trudging down the stairs to the rest of his friends’ curious faces. Sungmin bangs one more time before he too goes down. The pair collapse on sofas on opposite ends of the lounge. Leeteuk follows, pouting. “So what did you do to make Eunhyuk cry?”
“We confessed…” Donghae sighs, covering his head with his hands.
“Confessed…?” Leeteuk asks. “Confess what?”
“Our love for him...and not brotherly love either hyung” Sungmin replies.
“Oh shit…”Yesung moans from his place next to Donghae. “That was a terrible move…”
“Yes I realize that…”
“Why? What do you know Yesung? Tell us!” Leeteuk demands.
All faces turn to Yesung as he gulps. “Well, Eunhyuk told me he had feelings for both Donghae and Sungmin but didn’t know who he loved best. So know you have put him in a bad position…”
“AISH!” Donghae screams, running out of the house.
They all look at each other, and shrug. “Its late, we have school tomorrow, we should go to sleep!” Leeteuk orders, pointing towards the bedrooms. Yesung and Sungmin moan as they plod up the stairs, going into their bedrooms. Leeteuk sighs as he too joins them.
LATER THAT NIGHT…
Eunhyuk stops crying as soon as his tummy rumbles. Oh crap…He thought as he tiptoes towards his door, tugging it. “shit…” He mumbles as Donghae falls into the room, clutching a bunch of red roses and pink lollie pops in one hand and a pink teddy bear in the other.
“Owww….” Donghae groans, rubbing the back of his head.
“What were you doing, leaning against my door at this time of night?” Eunhyuk mumbles.
“I was waiting for you to come out. I knew you would, since you’re always hungry at night.” He replies.
Eunhyuk was surprised that Donghae knew this about him. Nobody ever saw him leave his room at night; they were all sleeping by that time. He looks down at Donghae at his feet, rubbing his head with the lollie-pops and roses in one hand and a teddy bear now at his side.
The whole scene, Donghae’s knowledge and his staying at his door when it was this late, it triggered something inside Eunhyuk’s heart. He knelt down and took Donghae’s head with his hands, pulling it closer towards him. When it was close enough, Eunhyuk slowly and softly put his lips onto Donghae’s. Donghae yelped in surprise but soon realized that the person who was kissing him was Eunhyuk, the love of his life. He began to put himself into the kiss and pried Eunhyuk’s lips open with his tongue. Just then…
“AHH!” Sungmin screamed from the side of the kissing couple. “I have lost!”
“What happened?” Leeteuk asked, coming out of his own bedroom, rubbing his eyes and clutching a worn white teddy bear from Kangin.
He smiled when he saw Eunhyuk and Donghae kissing, the couple looking totally happy. “And it ends well…” He mumbles before going back in and leaving the pair. Sungmin ha d also retreated, comforted by Yesung.
“I love you Donghae” Eunhyuk whispered, letting go of Donghae.
‘I love you too Eunnie” Donghae mumbled back before kissing Eunhyuk again.
