Wherein strange dreams prove contagious

James says he dreamed last night that he and I were visited three times in succession throughout a dream that was otherwise fairly mundane in nature by creatures that looked like human-sized barn owls. They had hands at the ends of their wings. Several groups of these creatures kept coming and going, and they'd split us up each time and then take ( Read more... )

Whoah, those owl creatures sound really intriguing but creepy too.

Dreams are such strange, unsettling things. I've been having really vivid, busy dreams all this year. The dream diary is filling up with weirdness.

The way he described them, they felt like something straight out of Spirited Away. It's been a long time since I kept a dream diary; I remembered my dreams often when I was younger, and they were always vivid. However, I feel like it's been a handful of years now when an instance of me remembering a dream is the exception to the rule, so for me to be remembering so many in such a short period of time is unusual.

Oh yes, it does sound like Spirited Away!

I used to keep a dream diary from my pre-teens to early teenage, but a couple of years ago I started keeping one again. I don't always remember that many, but during the past year I've been remembering more than in the past many years. I do feel like remembering dreams goes in phases, too - sometimes I'll remember nothing for months, and then there may be a week where I remember my dreams every morning.

I feel like my mind's been blocking me from remembering most of the dreams I've had in the past three years due to the trauma of what happened in them, so I have to wonder if the post-surgery drug intake is jarring things loose. I overheard someone talking the other day about a malaria drug (mefloquine hydrochloride, I believe) that causes terrible nightmares, and I wanted to say, hah, yeah, Percocet too.

I guess "juice" is meant as your stories. Given that awareness, both of the world without and of that within, is nourished by stories and their meanings.
I hope you're beginning to feel better. Honey and hugs

The hilarious and more literal interpretation might well be tied to my actual love of juice. I drink a great deal of mango, apricot, peach, and tropical fruit juices. It's difficult to get me to drink straight-up water. It's a good thing I drink lots of tea, I guess.
