Today was so distracting. Why did two of my teachers decide to have tests the day after elections? It's 2 a.m, I'm drinking coffee and I'm trying to study biology, but it's been a little hard to focus on biology. :-p

this election has just been soooooo nerve wrecking and i'm staying in a house right now that is Pro Obama and No on 8 so it's been tough since I didn't want either to go through...
I will be waiting for the US Supreme court to actually stand up for our constitution.... and then the ACORN voter fraud to be dealt with. There was enough fraud to cost the election. I am already ready to start working on making it law to have a photo ID and real residency (not a bench) to vote, sadly stricter voter laws are going to be needed now. Any one with me? ;) I am super excited about our new amendment to the CA constitution YAY prop 8!!! Jennie
as a christian, it is a struggle to decide between voting for what you believe is right and wrong, vs. what is best for the people. however, it is so beyond offensive and hateful to say that homeless people dont deserve a vote. im thinking back to all the references to the poor in the bible and cant find a place where your thinking and what is taught in the bible line up.
the purpose of our government is not to enforce a single religion but to let the majority rule.
We used to have laws in place that prevented people without "real residency" from voting. It wasn't until 1856 that all states had removed property ownership from being a requirement to vote. Under those laws neither of us would have been allowed to vote in the United States.
Other methods have been used in the past to prevent the lower classes from voting as well. Until 1828, Jews could not vote in the state of Maryland. South Carolina's 1778 Constitution only allowed Protestants to be elected to the House of Representatives, and Delaware's 1776 Constitution had elected officials recite the following oath, "I, A B. do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and in the Holy Ghost, one God, blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the holy scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by divine inspiration." before they could hold office

I believe it. This will be always be a battle. Once you get a taste of something, you don't ever want to go backwards... you want to fight to get it back
