I'm inclined to say I don't think I have noticed a difference. I've been played and cheated on by 3 geeks in 1 year.

Conclusion: either a. I am a doormat and I deserved it and I'm a rubbish judge of character or b. they weren't geeks.

Ouch.

My longtime playmate is a geek and has treated me nicer than all the non-geeks I've known in various capacities. In fact, I'm actually starting to consider (male) non-Trekkies sort of suspect on principle.

Is it possible to be a bad judge of character (been there) without being a doormat?

I think in general a geek is quieter and more observant of the world and therefore are able to be capable of the sensitivity needed to get the girl. Where as a non geek might try the Alpha male thing.

What if a geek wasn't a Trekkie? lol.

I hope it's possible to be a bad judge of character without being a doormat. Mainly because I don't fancy being a doormat.

Personally I think at the end of the day, a man is a man whether he is a geek or not and he can't override those urges and will do or say anything possible to get it, and we just want to believe it.

Oooh that would be a nice combination.

Why don't brains and devastatingly good looks with a decent manner and integrity seem to exist?

Generally that's probably true but it may also depend on the geek.

If he's so geeky he's a virgin and he'll never get another woman again in his life I think he'll treat you well!

This is so true for my older sister! She did that with her hubby, she was his first and he is the most devoted husband you could ever hope to have. He loves her unconditionally and works so hard to keep the family together and provide for them, I totally love him for that.

Not necessarily. Geeks tend to be more grateful you're with them and treat you nicer in that respect, but they'll also splurge money and lots of time and attention on games, cameras, IPhones, etc. Having had experience with both, I'd say it's the person not the subculture that dictates dickery.
