FIRE!

The roof of the building next to mine is on fire. It's awesome. I can watch it from someone's cube down the hall (since it's a shorter building than mine). Good times.

presuming everyone exits safely, you can commence chuckling like Bevis and saying "fire heh heh"

you should also kick the first person who says "terrorist" in the shins or groin, I know someone is going to try to blame it on "terrorists". (they caused the hurricane too you know)

No. It was a shrub on the roof, put there to look pretty, but dried out b/c it wasn't watered, that was burning.

So, basically, we've been looking at a burning bush all morning. No real threat to the building.

you should find the nearest street corner religious wacko and tell him about the burning bush, see if you can get him to talk about the ten commandments or something in front of the building all day. Or better yet tell everyone god has given you ten new commandments, heh. (#5 provide thy sys-admin with caffeine)

so a bush caught fire simply from the sun? I didn't know that could happen that easily.

What do I look like, the fire inspector? ;-) I dunno how it got started... one of my coworkers floated the theory that someone had to stash their j when someone caught them getting high on the roof.

Were you purposefully listening to 'Disco Inferno' while watching the fire, or was that just being played in your head? ;-)

This is entirely off topic, but I'm in Fairfax VA for the rest of the week, going to Nation (Alchemy?) on Thursday for a show. Is it as ghetto as I've been told, do you know?

Holy crap, are you kidding me? That's great. I'm there 3 out of every 4 fridays a week. It's pretty ghetto, but it's not too bad as long as you stay right by the club.

Thursdays is Alchemy/ALIAS - As I'm sure you know, Alchemy is goth night, which occupies most of the club. I'm down there every now & then for ALIAS, which is a drum&bass / occasional breaks party upstairs. I'm not crazy about what the DJs spin there typically, but if you're going, I may drop by to say "hi" :-) If you need a ride, I can probably hook you up with that, too.
