My lower back was killing me for the longest time, to the point where I couldn't even stand up to brush my teeth and it was pretty much torture to stand long enough to teach a class...

I went a weird Japanese chiropractor/massage therapist guy a couple times and it's been great ever since! I recommend therapeutic massage!

Mine is this weird hereditary thing, it happens to my dad too. I'd say about once a year it does this crap, one little thing will set it off and then the group of muscles around my tailbone take turns being spastic assholes. It sucks, but I am grateful that it seems to be muscular as opposed to getting my spine involved. =P

That said, shiroibara gave me a gift card to her massage place for my b-day. May cash it in next week.

I have absolutely no idea why mine happened; my guess is it's probably a joint problem that made the muscles around the base of my spine unhappy. But working out the knot worked wonders.

I have never been to a US massage place so I can't say if they will do the same thing or be as effective (this place in Japan was def a clinic - they did electrotherapy and such on me too), but if you've got a gift certificate it seems like a good chance to try.

Here is to hoping mine doesn't come back next year. sdlkfj93lk
