"You must be Junhyung's one and only most beautiful wife! You're so beautiful! I guess all those rumours were true after all! It must take a real beauty to give birth to such a handsome child!"
"Why, thank you. But I'm Junhyung's second wife to be honest. And.."
"No, shussh. Like I said, it takes a real beauty to give birth to a gorgeous son!"
Hara smiled and turned to her son. He looked at her, blinked and turned to the right. He looked at the empty spot and he pulled his hand out of Hara's hand. He ran off to the window and he smiled, looking outside. It was a beautiful scenary outside, full moon visible in the dark skies and it just calms the child's always cold heart.
~
"Good night, Yong Junior." Junhyung said, poking Ilhoon's sensitive spot making the toddler shriek in laughter. Junhyung poked him with his nose and he bent down to kiss his son. He carressed his face and smiled.
"Good night, Appa." the boy said when he finally calmed down,"Saranghae."
"Saranghae, Ilhoonie. Sleep well, baby."
Ilhoon nodded and watched as Junhyung kissed him one last time and exited the room, the older male switched off the lights and Ilhoon giggled when he turned to him.
"Good night, appa!" he said.
"Good night."
He shut the door and turned towards the kitchen.
"Good night, mama." he hears his son says and smiles. His wife and son is just so cute, it's rare that kids like him call their umma-s 'mama' but well, his son was special.
But when he heard the faucet turning off, he looked up and stared at his wife. She seemed to notice it and the lady of the house turned to him.
"What's wrong?"
"Aren't you... Weren't you in Ilhoon's room just seconds ago?"
"No, why?"
"But I heard the door..." Junhyung stopped. He gulped and continued,"You were here the whole time?"
"Yeah, I was planning to wish him goodnight after this."
"You didn't leave the kitchen?"
"No, Junnie," she laughed,"I was doing the dishes. What's wrong?"
"N-Nothing. It's, it's nothing."
~
Junhyung, despite being busy with work realized it before anyone else. He and Ilhoon had a bond far beyond earth, deeper than love and they could feel each other like how a mother can feel her child in her womb. Junhyung felt the extra presence.
And he knew, Ilhoon could see, feel and hear it.
Yong Ilhoon was no ordinary child to be honest. He was born 13 minutes and 13 seconds after his birth mother died. How precise Junhyung knew about it he couldn't understand. It just appeared to him when he had stopped mourning over his wife's death. His child was born on 13th of October, at 6.06 pm at the 6th second.
666 is the hotline to hell but Junhyung refused to believe that. Everyone stopped believing that cause Ilhoon was someone who prays to God and he attends church with everyone else. As he grew older, he grew up a normal child who cries, plays, makes a mess and sees extra beings.
Or in this case, one extra being who is not suppose to appear because he died giving birth to Ilhoon.
"Hoonie?"
"Hmm?" the toddler looked up from his window spot.
"Where is umma?"
"I don't know. I think she went out."
"Oh, then would you by any chance know where Mama is?"
"Mama? He's in the kitchen making me a sandwich." the boy beamed and Junhyung knew something was in his son's life.
"Baby?"
"Yeahh?"
"Is..." Junhyung stopped himself and shook his head,"Ani, it's nothing. Mama is pretty isn't he?"
"He's really pretty! I love Mama!"
"You love umma too don't you?"
"I love mama more. He sleeps with me at night to keep the monsters away." Junhyung forced a smiled on his face and left his son alone.
Half an hour later and when he peeks at his son, there is an actual plate on the table, bread crums on it and Ilhoon was talking...
... He was talking to the other being.
~
"Hara."
"Yeah?"
"Do you miss Hyunseung?"
"Hyunseung? Isn't that Ilhoon's birth mother?"
"My first wife, yes." Hara scrunched her face.
"I'm your wife now, Junhyung." she said.
"I know, I'm just saying... Do you miss him?"
"Do you?" she retorted.
"Yes, I do actually. Ilhoon deserves to well, see his birth mother."
"What are you saying, Junhyung?"
"I'm saying, I'm bringing his to Hyunseung's grave."
"Junhyung, you are not bringing my baby to a graveyard! What if he gets traumatized?"
"Hara, my son deserves to..."
"Your son? Yong Junhyung, I brought him up with my bare hands. And I'm telling you that no, you are not bringing my son to Hyunseung's graveyard!"
The house blacked out after she said that. It was raining heavily outside with thunder and lighting and the entire place blacked out.
Ilhoon came to the kitchen, he didn't cry, he didn't sob but he looked at his parents. He held his teddy bear in his left hand and his right hand was holding the air like he held someone's hand.
"Ilhoonie, what's wrong?" Hara went to her son. He looked up towards the right and he turned to her as she approached him.
"Mama says that's not very nice of you."
A lighting struck and Junhyung saw Hyunseung staring at back at him. He had blood all over his body, on his face, his neck, his body and his shirt was ripped apart like how the doctors ripped it apart to save Ilhoon. He froze at that moment and Hyunseung disappeared from his sight.
"Mama? What are you talking about, Ilhoon?"
"Mama says that's not very nice of you to not bring me to meet him." Ilhoon said.
She froze and slowly turned to Junhyung. Junhyung slowly smiled towards Ilhoon.
"Did he now, baby?"
"Yes. Mama did."
"Does baby Yong want to go see Mama Yong?" Ilhoon turned towards the right and he broke into a smile.
"Me and Mama would like that."
Junhyung smiled and nodded to his son.
"We'll go see Mama tomorrow okay, baby?" Hara glared at him but he ignored her.
"Okay, appa."
"Why don't you and mama go and sleep? Me and umma need to talk."
"Okay~ Night appa!" the boy beamed.
"Goodnight, Ilhoon." Hara said. He looked at her but turned away, hand still holding the air.
~
"Baby?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you know that..."
Don't say it.
Junhyung stopped. And continued driving, mouth sealed shut and blood turning cold.
"Appa?"
"Yes, baby?"
"Mama asked you something?"
"Hmm? Sorry, babe. What were you saying?" Junhyung said easily, trying to stay cool.
Why did Hara say such mean things?
And since then, he has been hearing Hyunseung's voice as well.
~
It took Hara 4 months to finally realize her husband and son are completely ignoring her. They find her presence annoying, disturbing and a total waste of space.
Hara entered the kitchen and looked at her family sitting and laughing with each other. She reached for the chair and was about to sit when the duo stared at her weirdly.
She stopped.
"Is something wrong?"
"You're sitting on mama's chair." Ilhoon said.
"Junhyung?" she said, voice dangerous.
"Yes, Hara?"
"Mama is me right?" she asked him. He gave her a weird look.
"Why would you say that? Hyunseung is sensitive you know." he reached out towards Hara and placed his hand on thin air,"It's okay, babe. You're still my number one."
Hara's blood turned cold as she stared at the duo with wide eyes.
"Junhyung."
"Hmm?"
"Hyunseung died 8 years ago."
"So?"
"He's... He's not suppose to be here."
The duo looked at her, glared at her.
"I suggest you stop talking like that. It's rude."
~
Hara started packing. She packed all her things, Junhyung's things and Ilhoon's things. She only took what she bought and what only had memories of herself, Junhyung and Ilhoon. She took nothing which had Hyunseung and she sent them all to her family's holiday house.
When Junhyung came back, she grabbed him out and carried Ilhoon back into the car. She started the engine and drove away.
"Where are we going?" Junhyung said.
"Somewhere."
"Why?"
"Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to."
"I want to know the answer."
Junhyung was replied with silence. For another few minutes, the journey was silent,
"Why are we leaving Seoul?" Ilhoon finally said.
"You'll know when we get there." was what Hara replied.
~
Three days later after they've some what settled down, Ilhoon turned to his umma. She noticed his unspoken question and sighed.
"We're here so that Hyunseung stays behind. He's gone to the far away land now, Hoonie. He needs to stay away from our family, he's not suppose to appear to you."
"So you just wanted to separate us?"
"I wouldn't want to say separate but... I want you to acknowledge me as your mother, the one who brought you up and they one who sacrificed a lot just for you." she smiled to him and the skies turned dark,"I want you to know that I'm your mother and that Hyunseung is no longer in the human world."
"Mama is always here."
"Ilhoon. Hyunseung died giving birth to you it's impossible that he's still around."
"He's right here. Sitting next to me."
"Yong Ilhoon. Stop it."
"And he's not happy."
"I said stop it."
"Mama says he has never done anything to interfere with your life so why would you..."
A slap plastered itself on Ilhoon's face and the skies roared with thunder and lighting. Ilhoon's eyes were wide after the slap.
"Now listen here, mister. I am your mother and I do not allow you to be speaking of Hyunseung ever again. It's not good for the peace of his soul."
Ilhoon had his hand on his face and he got up from his chair. He walked backwards, eyes never leaving Hara.
"You slapped me."
"Yes, I did and if you ever talk about him again in this house, I will slap you again."
Ilhoon looked upwards and back towards Hara. He ran away.
"Mama is scary when he's angry."
~
When Junhyung came home from some grocery shopping, he wide eyed. The whole house was turned upside down. He gulped when he saw Hara shivering on the couch.
"Did something happen?"
"He's here. I thought if we left Seoul, he'll stay there. But he's here too. He followed Ilhoon, why? He's supposed to be dead, Junhyung. He's suppose to be dead!"
Something crashed and Hara shut her ears.
"Make it stop. Make him stop!"
He looked at her, turned to the back and said nothing.
"MAKE IT STOP JUNHYUNG!"
He said nothing but he walked to Ilhoon's room. He opened it and he saw Ilhoon playing with his wooden blocks, he was happy and undisturbed. Junhyung slipped himself inside and attacked his son. His son shrieked at the attack and the duo wrestled on the floor, wooden blocks ignored.
Hara was screaming but the duo knew better than to go against Hyunseung.
~
One week. One week and Hara is bringing Ilhoon to meet psychologists and doctors. She brought him to church, to temples and to find Sifu-s to close the third eye.
But there was nothing wrong with the child and he didn't have a third eye. So what's the damn problem? Why can he see it? He looked at her, hand carrying his teddy bear and the air again. He was waiting to just go home but she looked at him with anger.
"Make Hyunseung leave." Hara said to Junhyung at the dinner table,"He's not human anymore."
"We talked about this."
"We did not. It's not good for Ilhoon."
"Hara, you're thinking too far. Hyunseung is alright and we're both comfortable with him around."
"Well, I'm not."
Maybe you should leave then.
Hara turned towards her son so fast, they duo didn't even notice it.
"What did you say?" Ilhoon looked up from his food.
"Hmm?"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, YONG ILHOON?"
"I didn't say anything! I was eating!"
"I SPECIFICLY HEARD YOU ASK ME TO LEAVE, ILHOON. DON'T DENY IT!"
"I'm not! I really didn't say anything!" Hara raised her hand to slap him but Junhyung stopped her.
The dark skies shrieked with loud winds and thunder, lighting clashing against each other and worst of all rain pouring nonstop for the past few hours. A lighting striked their home and the lights went out.
"Mama..." Ilhoon whispered.
"Baby, if you're done eating, why don't you go back to your room?"
"Can I have...."
"Hmm?"
"Ice cream?"
"Sure. I'll bring it to you later kay? I don't think your tummy will be able to fit anymore food now would it?" Ilhoon giggled.
"Later?"
"Junhyung." Hara said.
"Later, baby."
Ilhoon put his plate in the sink and ran back to his room.
"Junhyung, you can't spoil him like that."
"In case you didn't realize, Hara. Hyunseung said it's okay since he completed his homework."
"Hyunseung. Hyunseung Hyunseung Hyunseung. He's dead for God's sake! Stop talking about him!"
Then everything stopped.
The beaping on the rice cooker, the water boiling, the sound of the back light flickering, the sound of water dripping, everything.
That's not nice.
Hara wide eyed at Junhyung.
"D-Did you say something?"
She was replied with silence then Junhyung smiled.
"So you can hear him now too?"
Junhyung smiled and took his plate to the sink. He tool a tub of ice cream and left.
"J-Junhyung?"
"Hm?"
"Don't leave... Don't leave me alone."
"But Hyunseung said that he wanted to have a one on one talk with you."
~
Hara brought herself outside into the rain. She stood there with what seemed to be Hyunseung's soul.
"I don't like how you're treating my family."
"Well, I don't like how you're pasting yourself back into my family."
"I was married to Junhyung first. I have the rights."
"And I was the second cause you died."
"I died giving birth to Ilhoon."
"You died before giving birth to him."
"And how would you know?"
"Cause I'm the one who killed you." Hara said, smirk on her face and eyes narrowing,"You were never going to be the perfect mother for Ilhoon anyways so I ended all your sufferings. To be honest, I wanted to kill you much much earlier but Junhyung was so happy that you had a child in you so I rationalized and took advantage. I expected Ilhoon to think I'm the one who gave birth to him. It was perfect and everyone believed it."
"So that's why you got rid of everyone."
"Yes. I had to dispose Yoseob and Dujun. They saw it happen. Gikwang and Dongwoon was fine as long as they're not close to Junhyung. Who knows what that two told them."
Hyunseung smiled.
"I'm not alone though." Hara raised an eyebrow.
Two souls appeared.
"They're here for revenge." Hyunseung said,"I'm here to fill in back my spot as a wife. My son can already see me anyway."
"What about Junhyung?"
"He can't. But he tries."
"So he lied to me? That bast..." a slap flew onto Hara's face and she looked at him in shock. He was standing two meters away from her.
"How dare you slap me?"
"Oh, don't you worry. A slap is not the only thing I'm going to do to you."
~
Hara was dragged away by something. She tried to scream, to cry for help but nothing came out of her mouth. Air was knocked out of her lungs and her voicebox failed on her because of fear. She started sobbing, he desparately tried to kick and punch her attacker but it was useless.
"Silly girl. We're ghosts, your physical attacks don't work on us."
"I c-could try." she managed to whisper.
"Stupid girls should be put to death then." what seemed to be Yoseob's voice said.
"Relax, baby. We have plenty of time."
"Doo."
Hara struggled and another slap came in contact with her face.
"Stop moving you fucking bitch."
Her face started to swell from the hard slap and she remained silent as they dragged her further into the woods. They came to a stop and Hara whimpered, her arms and legs bleeding from all the friction when being dragged.
"Let the fun begin." Hyunseung chuckled.
Strong blows of wind came clashing to the sides of her face. Slap after slap after slap.
"You bitch. I did nothing but you fucking killed me! I had a child, you asshole!" Yoseob shrieked.
He punched her and continued to slap her till her face was bleeding beyond recognision.
"Ssh, baby. It's alright." Dujun said as he pulled him away.
"You want a turn at it, Doo?" Hyunseung said. He nodded and picked up a stick.
Hara watched the stick float in the air. Despite her being able to hear them, she can't see them and she trembled.
The stick moved to the side and it whacked her head. Blood splashing out her nose and mouth. It continued to hit her head side to side and eventually, her neck gave out to the impact and it broke. She lumped forward, face towards the side, blood and tears mixed together dripping down her once beautiful face.
The stick was tossed away and a loud shout was heard. The shout turned into thunder and the rain began pouring down harder.
Hyunseung approached Hara.
"You killed me with poison and I had to be ripped apart cause they urgently needed to get Ilhoon out. Look at how they ripped me apart. Just cause I'm dead doesn't make me an object. I could had lived if they rushed me to the hospital immediately. But no. They had to ripped me apart and then send me to the hospital. Humans can still come back to life after 3 hours you know? I could had survived. Too bad they ripped me and I eventually officially died of blood loss." he made her touch his intestines, his stomach and all the interiors of his body,"It's all your fault, Hara. If you didn't scream for them to get Ilhoon out I would still be alive. It's all your fucking fault."
Lighting flashed through the skies and Hara saw Hyunseung. He had blood on his face and his body was ripped open in the front. They didn't bother to sew him up cause Hara didn't want to pay them to.
"You did this to me, Hara. I could had been patched up, I could still forgive you for murdering me but look how ugly you made me become. It's your turn now."
She trembled and she screamed when her body was turned upwards. She couldn't turn her head cause it was broken but she screamed as much as she could.
A sharp object touched the skin of her stomach and she shrieked. Struggling to move her already failing body, she tried but all she felt was pain.
Hyunseung used the exact same pocket knife, her doctor used to cut his stomach open. He used the same knife to cut the exact same parts he was cut at. The knife came in contact with her stomach and he cut it opened.
"You're not pregnant so I'll just cut your stomach." he said.
He cut her stomach then he moved down to cut her intestines.
"You made them cut my intestines so that I wouldn't survived remember?"
He stabbed her intestines, blood splashing all over his soul, staining the ground. She coughed blood out and unconsciousness soon kicked in.
"Hey, don't die yet, Hara. I'm not done with you."
He stabbed the knife deeper into her intestine and dragged it upwards. Up up up, cutting all the organs in the way into two and up till her ribcage.
"Now you're suppose to be dead. Just like how I killed your doctor and your bodyguard."
She blinked as pain engulfed her body. Life slowly fading out of her, she watched Hyunseung turn to smile at her and she was dragged back out again.
She felt a rope around her neck when she blinked the last moments of her life.
Hyunseung had Dujun tie her neck and he had the two of them hang her up there. Organs fell out as she was forced up, thorns of the flowers below bit through her skin making hard and deep red lines form on her legs. What was left of her blood continued to flow out her body.
Hyunseung smiled at the sight of a dead Hara. Organs carelessly hanging out of her body, neck hanging loosely, face crushed beyond recognision, arms all bruised and lastly legs having deep red stratch marks from the torns. He smiled at both Dujun and Yoseob.
"And that's for trying to split us all away again."
~
"Appa."
"Yeah, baby?"
"Umma's..."
"Hmm?" Junhyung walked to the window and wide eyed.
Outside behind their home, at the start of the woods, hung Hara's body. It was a traumatic sight and he beckoned for Ilhoon to look away.
"H-Hara!" he squeeked. He was fast on his foot but was stopped when the door slammed shut. Red footsteps painted the floor of their house and walked towards him.
"Mama!" Ilhoon shrieked,"I missed you!"
I missed you too, baby. Junhyung, it's late. Don't go outside. It's dangerous.
Junhyung faked a smile and nodded, legs seating himself down on the floor.
And at that moment, Junhyung knew.
His life would never be the same ever again.
~
The funeral passed. Parents cried, friends mourned her death, Junhyung pretended to cry and mourn her death, Ilhoon pretended to cry that his umma died in a murder.
They tried to be nice and they gave him support. Partners all understood his situation, friends gave him space and parents tried not to blame. Her parents tried to find the culprit, but to no avail. It was a murder without evidence.
"This is beyond human, Mr Goo. No human can kill like this. Maybe an animal did it."
"Her body was hung up a tree, inspector."
"Someone could had killed her first then hung her up there."
"Wouldn't there be evidence then?"
"Sadly, they is no evidence at all. Hara's husband was with their son when it all happened and there was proof in the CCTV-s of the house. Someone could had entered their house or she could had went out and something happened. I can say anything could had happened cause Miss Goo went out of the house."
Investigations took place but still, the murderers were not found.
Ilhoon quickly forgot her, friends moved on, business partners forgot her, parents slowly healed but Junhyung knew.
Of course they couldn't find the murderer.
The one who killed her was already dead.
And apparently Junhyun was the only one who knew.
The end.
A/N: Okay... not so violent... more of horror this time~ I hope it was okay and thanks for reading!! ^^ <3
