Through no foreplanning on my part, I ended up doing some joyful things out in the "real" world today. I went with my BIL, the 5yo (who didn't have school), and the 1yo to a children's museum and out for lunch at a place that delivers the kids' meals in car-shaped boxes, whoot whoot! First off, Code Name Verity...I am SO on board with your review. That book rocked me internally, and I can't believe how amazing it was. I still haven't found the right reader at my school to give it to, but it is an AMAZING piece of literature!

The Kid in the Red Jacket by Barbara Park
Howard Jeeter's parents MADE him move from Arizona to Masschusetts...where he's now a new kid! He has to make new friends, figure out the lunchroom rules, and wonder if he'll ever play soccer again.

Oh, those sound great. Thanks so much! (I love Barbara Park, but I don't think I've read that one.)

I'm pleased that you're rec'ing Moana 'cause I'm a big Disney geek. (And I geeked out even more when I found out Lin-Manuel Miranda did the songs - in fact, I found out he's a big Disney geek, too.) I don't know if this is something that would interest you, but I found this video on YouTube the other day that's a multi-lingual version of "How Far I'll Go", that I thought was pretty cool.

I loved Moana lots and lots, both for the music and the setting; I really really love the ocean and it was so great to escape to it for a while.

I'll check out the video, thanks!!
