U awake?-Chapter 1-P1
The next day, Kame was hesitant to see Jin. No, hesitant wasn’t the right word. Hesitant meant he was slow in coming towards Jin when the time did come to see him in the hallways. Hesitant meant he was slow in saying something to him; hesitant meant he was lacking in confidence. Which, to say the least, all applied to him at the moment. But they were nowhere near how he really felt inside, his guts twisted into knots… and all because of a stupid text conversation, he thought.
Apprehensive… now that was the right word. It nearly covered all the mixed feelings that made him dizzy; anxious, uneasy, nervous, and fearful.
Kame scolded himself for lying through his teeth last night. What the hell was he going to do? Just play it off? Pretend Jin was just kidding? After all, this was Jin he was talking about. With all the chicks surrounding him in his life, Kame was pretty sure he’d have more than his fair share of girls to ask for a make out session or two. But, what if Jin was being serious? The thought lingered in his mind for a moment or two as he halted in his tracks in the middle of the busy hallway. Holding his book bag casually, his face contorted into all sorts of expressions of cute frustration. Kame rubbed the thought off, continuing through the hall. Nah, he thought, no way in hell would Jin go for a guy. He likes boobs, ass, he likes-
“Hey, watch it shortie-“
A familiar voice woke Kame from his trance and he saw the beautiful face go from annoyed to a happy, almost shining, expression.
“Jin, I’m only a few centimeters shorter than you…” Kame replied, his snobby facet surfacing as he stared at the mesmerizing figure.
“And it was only midnight last night. You never texted me back,” Jin chuckled.
Kame could feel his face beginning to heat up, but he couldn’t let Jin see it. He upped his snobbiness even more.
“Well, I think you’re forgetting the fact that I’m a ‘nerd’,” Kame said, forming quotes in the air. “School first!”
With that, Kame swiftly and coolly walked off to his next class before the minute bell¹ could catch him. Behind him, in the distance, he could hear Jin yelling back with amusement, “Bullshit! Text me tonight. You still need to answer a few questions of mine!”
Kame grinned and finally let his face flush to its fullest extent as he entered his class, not daring to even turn back to look at Jin.
