What is a friend?

My fledgling entrance to social networking via Facebook has left me pondering the nature of the word friend

I think if the apology was sincere then nothing can negate it. It was not an invitation to socialize. You should not feel obligated to open your private life to people if you don't wish to. Friend the people you want to reconnect with and ignore the ones that you don't.

I had people who knew my sister friending me...it was very strange. They tortured me in high school and now they want to chat. Be true to what YOU want to do on Facebook (or anywhere else).
