Watched The Grudge and Dawn of the Dead (the new one) last night. Gotta say, I thought they were both really good. Say what you will about the destructive power of Hollywood, but just because it redoes something, doesn't make it automatically inferior - at least, that's what I think. Ah! In horror films. the genre convention dictates that virgins can't die, and they are infact punished for having debaucherous sex by being killed. For example, we see a couple being slaughter after we see them in bed together smoking a post-coital. So, if you find yourself in a horror film, do not have sex. Or run upstairs...

And the pet thing always gets (and irritates) me. I mean, look at Independence Day. A whole tunnel of people die but the blood golden retriever bounds through the door just as the flames whoosh by, *absolutely unharmed*. Bloody sappy filmmakers. (Grouches)
