Alors, the uncertainty and sadness that came with the (soft) rejection from VFS has been displaced by excitement. I've been so overwhelmed by catching up with last winter's incompletes* and working on my independent study project that I completely failed to notice this lovely fact:

This house situation is working out nicely. Slowly but surely we are creating a home here. Furniture appears, refuse disappears, we clean and scrub and laugh. Two nights ago, we installed a screen door for the front porch- and then stood back to admire our work, drinking beer and congratulating ourselves.
