meril did it, and I don't think I ever have, so. My set from her below the cut, and while I am unsure how good I'll be at thinking of questions, if you really want some from me then leave me a comment. (If you do so, you are also supposed to take a turn at the meme in your journal.)
1) Why do the Phoenix Wright games keep holding your attention?
That's actually a relatively new (less than a year) obsession, but one of the main reasons why they captured it in the first place is that Phoenix and Edgeworth in the first game have
one of my very very favorite relationship dynamics ever. The games are also just a lot of fun to play -- there's the mystery-solving aspect which ties into my occasional true-crime addiction and the fact that I did spend a lot of lazy time as a child and teenager watching Matlock because my mother was watching it. (Also other shows that feed into my appreciation of it, but Matlock was the one with the defense attorney constantly getting his client off the hook by successfully incriminating someone else during the trial. XD) And they're funny, with lots of bizarre characters, silly pun names, and internet memes in the dialogue. Also, I got Andrea totally hooked, which always helps something keep my attention. ;)
2) What's your favorite thing about sports manga?
Sports manga tend to include many of the story elements I like in actual sports and many of the story elements I like in related types of shounen manga (i.e. the fighting tournament series). Lots of underdogs winning, lots of emphasis on the strength of teamwork or friendship. Also, I freely admit I like schoolboys. XD (Specifically, I enjoy being able to recall the things I feel nostalgia about from my own teenage years through the POV of teenage characters.)
3) What's your opinion on the designated hitter?
I love pitchers hitting like, um, a thing that I love. But I also love David Ortiz, and if he's forced to play first base then somebody else has to come out of the Red Sox lineup. (Granted, that could have meant, I dunno, Pedroia playing short and Lugo sucking somewhere else, but still.) Couldn't both leagues just have 10-man lineups?
4) What's your favorite ballpark?
It's Fenway, with the caveat that I've not even had the chance to explore Fenway anywhere near as well as I'd like, let alone any of the others, and I've not been to any other park more than once yet. (It's a more or less respectable list by now -- Fenway, Safeco, US Cellular, Progressive, Comerica, and Great American.) But it may always be Fenway, because going to a Red Sox game at Fenway as a Red Sox fan is a really amazing experience of group energy. Sharing any experience with 36000 other even somewhat like-minded people is pretty cool, but there's nothing quite like an exciting Red Sox victory at Fenway. (And I've seen some pretty exciting ones, with high scores and seesawing leads and a couple of walk-off home runs.)
5) What do you like most about the Sims games?
In Sims 1 it was definitely the fannish aspect. I downloaded SOOOO many Sims of characters or stuff I felt I could use to make Sims of characters. I never wanted to invent wholly original Sims or play with the families that came with the game. (I deleted them all.) Downloading stuff and building neat houses was fun, but mostly so that fannish Sims could live in them; I wanted lots of things that were accurate for charaters or funny for characters or whatever.
In Sims 2 it's probably the potential for storytelling. I'm still interested in fannish stuff, but it's harder to create decent fannish Sims when the graphics are so much more complex, and I ended up fascinated by some of the characters that come with the game too, and I'm always nabbing stuff that I think would be interesting for photoshoots or video capture, fannish or otherwise. (The more involved gameplay also means that I'll happily just mess with the game for a while because there are a lot more interesting things for Sims to do, but it's the stories I find really fascinating. I've also read a lot of Sims stories written by other people, some about the Maxis characters, some original.)
