I swept under the kitchen table last weekend. This apparently wasn't acceptable to Katie, as it meant that there was nothing to eat (except the food in her dish). Therefore the floor is now again covered in cat crunchies.

Are you unaware that crunchies taste better when eaten off the floor? My cats assure me that it is so.

I'd wondered if Katie was the only cat that did this. Do yours deliberately scoop their food out of the dish so that they have a reserve on the floor?

One of mine regularly scoops food onto the floor with her paw then eats it from the floor before scooping out some more. Sometimes she just tips the bowl over instead. The others occasionally put food on the floor or in the water bowl before eating it. They normally have food in their bowl all the time so they apparently don't feel the need for a reserve supply.
