Nephilim: A Request

So I have a request... Does anyone have any experience of moving to a country and attending school, and they don't speak the language? And does anyone have any experience of living in Catalonia? Sorry if it sounds creepy, but I just want to gather some more information for writing some of the primary Barcelona scenes for Nephilim.

and yes, when I first moved from China to the UK, i didn't speak any english apart from the word "robot" (long story). So I just followed this girl in my class about and copied everything she did. and by that i mean every. single. thing. o_o

i think she might have been a bit freaked out. :)

Well, thanks for your input! If I may ask, what age were you roughly, and was it difficult to learn English completely from scratch?

well i was about 6-7, so it wasn't too hard for me to learn english. english is relatively easy compared to a lot of languages, and i think i picked it up in about half a year. :)

I learned that the cut-off age for learning a language and reaching native fluency is around 8 years old, but the MC will be 12. D: But then we won't meet him properly until he's in his early twenties...

But thanks again for you input! It's helping me set up a few things about the characters and settings, it's very much appreciated. :)

Hopefully, I'll get the prologue and first chapter up soon.
