You know I was thinking the same thing about 24 - it's just such a satisfyingly round, even, symmetrical-seeming number. I am as many years as there are hours in a day, as many inches in two feet, as many eggs as two dozen, as many months as in two years, as many signs as two full years of the zodiac, two entire Chinese cycles (it's the year of the ox again!)... I know it's not a divine number or anything but it feels like one!

Only you would appreciate those nerdy thoughts lol.

Oooh, I forgot about Chinese cycles. That's exciting! It's like an unrecognizedly important life-year/coming of adulthood mark.

It's actually unsettling how easy it was to adjust back. It's actually strange how far away the past year feels, like it's in another world that's still continuing one while when I came back, this entire place was exactly where I left off. A bit like returning through the wardrobe to the English country home after going through an entire adolescence and early childhood in Narnia. I felt like I grew years at Castle Rock, and then when I come back, time resumes at the very slow pace, where few things change, in Suburbia, US, yet I know things are continuing on back in my other home in fast-motion.
