So, when I looked at this summer's listings for movies, I actually found myself excited for the first time in, well, ever. This is the Summer Of The Geek Movies, after all. And yet, somehow, I've managed to miss more than I've seen. I'm behind on my movies. When I left northern Virginia last fall, I lost my moviegoing partner in Susan, and haven't ( Read more... )

Obviously you didn't read the M. Night review I alerted people to.

;)

Definitely check out WALL-E and Hellboy. Wanted is download-worthy but not great, and hells yeah we're all seeing Batman this weekend!

Sigh, yeah, I saw all the reviews and the warning signs that Happening would suck, but I took a shot anyway. Up til now, I've given Shyamalan the benefit of the doubt. I even liked Lady In The Water when everybody else hated it. But Happening was so many neat ideas wasted and brief moments of genuine shock and talent buried under 90 other minutes of awful dialogue and stilted acting... :(

Thanks for the head's up on Wall-E and Hellboy. They'll go next on the viewing list behind Dark Knight.

Cool, that's two votes for Wall-E. That's always a good sign when friends with opinions you trust are that high on a film. :)

well considering i'm normally going to movies withyou, i've seen all the same ones you have. plus Wall-e and Hulk.

wall-e as you already know is solid, like everything pixar does.

Hulk, was definitely better than the first one. don't bother seeing that one... really. ed norton was decent, as expected. liv tyler, really not so much. in one of her early scenes it's just crazy, she looks like sh has so mych botox in her lips that i suspect that had to use wires to keep her from falling over. really they were so big i don't know how she was walking. so i was disappointed in her performance. the CG stuff is again over the top, but nearly as horrible as yon craptastic 2003 version.
