Geekiest wake up alarm?

So I had an unexpected wake up alarm this morning. An unusual constant beeping from downstairs woke me up and for a moment I couldn't figure out what it was, then the penny dropped, I'd run out of credit on the electric meter (I have one of those pesky meters that use a top up key) and the UPS's had kicked in and were now sounding the critical shut

A few years ago, for many months we had a problem where the RCD would trip occasionally. It would often do it around 6am. Our house has many UPSs. So yeah, I understand this ;>

(Actually I had more UPSs then than now - I found out that the number of UPSs might have been what was causing trips, so UPSing more things to protect against trips was actually being counter-productive!)
