For You: what is something that is beyond monetary value?

or another interesting question: What would 30 years of your life be worth? (must give a dollar amount)

Sorry to be so utterly predictable, but... peace, love, happiness, these things have no monetary value. They cannot be attained through money and they are more important than money. Did you think I was going to say that?

sometimes it seems like there is nothing that can't be bought... like ycandy says theres intangible niceties, but as far as our monetary system is concerned, people can be made to participate without Peace Love and Happiness. drugs/pharmaceuticals, entertainment, and numbness (respectively) seem like (poor) replacements that can easily be dollared up.

Community... another replaceable nicety, but far beyond the monetary system. People in a community can exchange everything they need without money. Although you may be able to count the dollars it would save you, you couldnt buy an effective human network for any amount of money.

what do YOU think?
