Geez, that's rather melodramatic, don't you think? :-S You're not ruining anybody's life, Kam. He'll be alright. Time is all he really needs. (And for goodness sake, keep him away from the keyboard!)
But here... You did what was best for both of you. It would have hurt him more if you would of kept dating him when you didn't feel the same, right? And maybe it just took hanging around that *ahem* OTHER guy to make you realize how you really feel. So don't beat yourself up over it! You're not ruining anyone's life, you're giving him an opportunity to love someone else who will return his affection whole-heartedly. Maybe he'll realize that someday too, hmm? :-)
