Harry walked home from work. Normally he took the floo, or he apparated, but today he went for a walk to clear his head. The amount of paper work he had to do was staggering, and left him feeling like his brain had been replaced by mountains of fluff. Being Head Auror was had its perks, but being buried alive underneath piles and piles of paperwork was not something he had signed up for when he took the job. Nor the overtime he had to work to clear said piles.
He breathed in the crisp December air. Harry stuffed his hands into his pockets, and hunched up his shoulders against the cold. Snow had fallen the day before, and had coated his surroundings in a pure white blanket. He grinned at the sound of snow beneath his feet, and at the foot prints he left behind. It were these simple things in life that always left him feeling content.
He was close to Grimmauld place, when the streetlights flicked on just before twilight. The lamps casted a gentle glow onto the snowflakes that were had started whirling down. Harry was suddenly reminded of Hogwarts, and the Great Hall with the magical ceiling. He smiled slightly at the good memories.
I can’t believe it’s December already, he thought as he continued his way home.
