Title: Himitsu Star

Summary:  Wait, do I really have to spoil the story?  Maybe after a few chapters..

Note:  Don`t kill me when it gets to the second chapter.  I`ll explain later.  If you happen to find any typos, please point them out for me in the comments~ ^^

Alright, Ryou, last part of the test. Describe the transcription process of DNA to a protein. Well… I wrote the last sentence of the BCR, satisfied with all my answers. Based on my tallies on the back of my BCR sheet of all the questions that I was sure I got correct, and those I wasn’t too sure about, that would make the lowest possible grade on this test a low ‘B.’ Since I’d gotten ‘A’s on both quarters for the semester, I can get a ‘C’ and still have a ‘A’ for my semester grade. So hopefully, except for English, I`ll have ‘A’s for all subjects for the semester. I gathered my papers, relieved that the final test was finally over, and walked up to the desk to turn the papers in.

I walked back to my desk, slightly annoyed that I still had another hour to wait in silence. Maybe I could memorize some song lyrics - - “Gu Dan Mo Tian Lun” by Fahrenheit, “It’s You” by Super Junior, and “Never Say Die” by YUI. I’ve been a Fahrenheit fan for two years, and YUI fan for one, and just recently started becoming fond of Super Junior. Though I can`t really compliment Suju’s singing skills, at least their dances are fun to learn. Plus, the fourth album for Fahrenheit was postponed to August…eight months away! How am I ever going to survive?

Oh, so are you confused yet? Just to clear things up - - I am completely, fully, one-hundred percent Chinese. I just happen to have a mother who likes Japanese names, and Kpop songs are just CATCHY. (Choheun sarang, noneun naege chotsaram~) You just have to make sure your pronunciation is correct (though it IS a lot harder to memorize Korean lyrics than Japanese or Chinese lyrics…).

I looked up as the teacher put a note on my desk. It was an early release note. Now, what was this? I didn’t have anything planned for today. Oh well, at least I can do something more productive than just sitting there and memorizing lyrics. I went up to the front, grabbed my backpack, and walked over to my locker to take out my coat. This was still strange, though. My parents would usually never let me miss school if I weren’t really sick. I walked down the two flights of stairs that would take me to the first floor, the whole time wondering what, exactly, was going on.

As I walked towards the office, I saw that it was rather crowded. I could tell that most of the people in the office were pretty tall - Well, mostly around my height - I’m 179 centimeters tall and pretty proud of my height too. I’ve never really concerned my self with dating and stuff - Hey, I`m still in high school (though I am a junior...)! Why rush things so much? So my height never bothered me. I occasionally wonder what would happen if I suddenly became interested in dating, but I`m sure there are plenty of people who are taller.

Soon, I reached a point where I could make out the faces of some of the people who were at the correct angle. They seemed familiar, somehow. Have I met them before? Perhaps. I`m sure I’ll be able to find out soon enough. I arrived at the main office, opening the door, as everyone turned around to see me walk in.

“You called? I’m Ryou Song.” I asked the school secretary, still trying to remember where I had seen all of those guys’ faces before. As I looked around one more time, I finally realized who, exactly, they were. Super Junior, and a few others, probably people working for SM. Well, it would have been cooler if it was Fahrenheit, but what were they here for? And wouldn’t there be some sort of large group of fans outside if it was really them? …Oh wait, this is America. Not nearly as many people know who they are here.

“Ah, yes. This group has asked for you to be dismissed early. I gather that you have finished your exam?” The secretary asked, though in a tone to suggest that the question was rhetorical, “Please sign out at the attendance office before you leave.”

“Um, alright.” I replied, still unsure of why these people were here. What could they possibly want with a kid like me? Well, to avoid some sort of conflict with the school security, I guess I’ll just have to play along, just until we get out of the school building. I signed out at the attendance office, with the group following behind me. “So, shall we remove ourselves from the premises?” I asked the group following behind me. Oh wait, of course, they probably don`t know English. Perhaps they had a translator? I looked around at their confused faces, and no one was speaking up to translate for them. Who was the one who was good at English again? Right. Kibum. I shortened my question, using more accessible vocabulary. “Should we leave?”

“Oh, yes.” The man that I believe was Kibum answered me. Well, in the month that I knew Super Junior, I think I did fairly well in being able to recognize each of them. The group led me to the main entrance of the building, and I saw, outside, that there was a large bus parked in the bus circle, probably rented by Super Junior. Someone gestured at me to board the bus, but I stopped, slightly suspiscious.

“I`m sorry, but can you please tell me what you want first?” I asked Kibum, who was fairly close by. He translated to Korean for a business-looking man, who replied back with a string of words.

“He wants to offer you a job as a singer in SM, we’ll talk about the details later.” Kibum translated. His English is actually quite good, though he does have a small accent.

Wait, really? It was always a dream of mine to become a singer…but this early? And with SM entertainment? I remembered the various rumors about SM, and about how the singers were treated, then about their fame. Do I really want this? Being famous…but what would I have to give in return? Though the rumors were never confirmed to be true… Well then, I guess I’ll just have to try and make the contract as beneficial to me as possible. I doubt the amount of work will decrease too much, but I’m sure threatening them with the possible filing of the same lawsuit as DBSK will work somewhat. Though that did also remind me of Hangeng’s lawsuit. I looked around again, to see that he was, in fact, also present among the members. So what, exactly, happened?

I boarded the bus, my head swirling with thoughts. I`m sure all will be explained eventually. I sat down in a seat near the middle of the bus, searching through their Korean conversations for some of the few phrases I knew. I take Korean in high school, and the school I attend is one of the few schools in the county that offer Korean as a course. After a while, though, I decided to stop and just enjoy my hour off from school.

We arrived back at my home, where a large group of other people were waiting. I walked off the bus, looking around at all of the unfamiliar faces outside of my home. Two men in suits walked up to me, one of which, I found, could speak fluent English.

“Hello, I am a representative of SM entertainment. I’m sure you’ve heard of us. We want you to debut under SM entertainment. We have already informed your parents, and they consent to allowing you to debut under SM entertainment.”
