I read this aloud at the breakfast table. Thanks for the eye witness report.

In a rural area near us their is a school with the pretty name of Lake Forest that houses juvenile sex offenders. They specialize in predators that cannot safely live near other children. Fun.

It honors me to have been read at a breakfast table; I've been trying for most of the day to figure out how to express this, but this is the best I can come up with.

lurking in from therightfangirlI'm not surprised about that Job Corps horror story you linked regarding that girl who wasn't allowed to leave with her family. These programs lose federal funding when the dropout rate goes too high. So they'll sometimes go to immoral lengths to keep that rate low. In Americorps, Team Leaders routinely let underage drinkers off the hook (even though the rules clearly state that underage drinking is grounds for an immediate expulsion). And they try to mediate situations with violent/disruptive people instead of reassigning them or kicking them out ( ... )
