Folks, this is serious. The Centers for Disease Control, an agency of the United States government, is encouraging people to prepare a zombie plan. Would they do something like this if there wasn't a serious outbreak already under way? Why would they risk either ridicule, or causing panic, if there wasn't a legitimate threat?

I thought you were joking, but the honest truth is I used the zombie apocalypse scenario to motivate me to actually upgrade my disaster kit. Earthquakes aren't as fun to plan for as zombies, even if they're more likely. Luckily, a lot of the same stuff can be used in either situation.
