Summary: When their mothers asked.
Warnings: Un-betaed, terrible English, my first fic after a very long time.
Notes: Inspired from BEST vs 7 in DVD Summary.
Hikaru and his mother were at Yabu’s living room as Yabu’s mother invited them to have a chat together. He let the mothers talk meanwhile he excitedly played a game and Yabu seriously read a magazine.
Then, Hikaru felt intense stares for several time. “Doushita no, okaa-san?” He curiously asked his mother who was grinning to him and Yabu.
Hikaru’s mother did not reply with words, she just giggled after exchanging glance to Yabu’s mother.
“Okaa-san??” Yabu asked his mother too. “Why are you giggling too??”
“They’re just too sure that you two are dating…”It was a sudden answer from Yabu’s older sister, making YabuHika dropped the magazine and NDS they were holding.
The two mothers smiled seeing their sons’ funny and expected reaction.
“See? I’m right, ain’t I, Riko-chan?” Yabu’s mother teased her daughter.
“They haven’t said ‘Yes’, okaa-chan…” The latter protested.
“There’s no need, Riko-chan. The answer has already written on their flushed faces.”
“Ch-chotto… okaa-san!” Hikaru protested.
“Don’t try to lie by denying it, Hika-chan… I’m your mother… I know everything about you.”
“I don’t.” Hikaru slightly glared meanwhile Yabu narrowed his eyes.
“Nee… Kou-chan… why’re you quite suddenly?” Yabu’s mother asked.
Yabu seemed not to hear his mother as he was drowning in his mind. It did not feel good to hear someone knew everything about Hikaru beside himself. He knew he should not have to feel that way as it was simply usual thing when a mother knew her children so well.
“Kou-chan!!!” Riko shouted as she pulled her brother’s ears.
“What’s??? Onee-chan!!??” Yabu complained after hearing a very loud voice. “Don’t you know that hurts?!!”
“It’s your fault as you didn’t respond to okaa-san.”
“Eh??? Did okaa-san say something???” Yabu innocently asked.
Yabu could see a smirk on his mother’s face.
“Let me guess what’s on your mind, my dear son.”
Yabu gulped.
“Unlike Hikaru-kun who will try to deny… you’re thinking the best way to tell us the truth about your relationship, right?”
Yabu widened his eyes, blushing hardly. “That’s not true.”
“It’s true. Don’t you realize how red your face is now????” Yabu’s mother gave a reason.
“What’s the evidence???” Hikaru suddenly asked.
“Huh?”
“The evidence that we’re dating. I believe there’s something triggers all of this commotion.” Hikaru challenged, folding his arms.
Yabu looked at Hikaru in amusement. “When did Hikaru become smart like this??”
“Well… if we tell you, you’ll tell us the truth??” Hikaru’s mother countered.
“Sure.” Hikaru feigned to calm although his heart was beating like crazy, fearing his secret must be revealed now.
“Show them, dear.” Yabu’s mother ordered her daughter.
Yabu and Hikaru followed Riko’s steps to her room then they saw her holding a DVD, grinning.
“What’s on it?” Hikaru whispered.
“How do I know?”
“We’re in your house. You didn’t do any weird things these days, didn’t you??”
“Why are the two of you whispering??” Yabu’s mother questioned.
“Trying to find who’s at the fault??”
“We aren’t!!”
The same answer in the same time only made the mothers laughed.
“Let’s figure it out together.” Riko suggested.
Yabu and Hikaru took a glance to each other before averting their attention to the TV screen.
“That’s our DVD concert…”
“Summary… last year…”
“Yeah… it is.”
“Look what both of you have done in the concert.”
Yabu and Hikaru looked each other in question.
“See what the two of you have done in this performance.” Riko said after she found ‘the evidence’.
Yabu and Hikaru focused their eyes and saw the BEST vs. 7 performance, ‘Suriru vs. Get’. Yabu looked away after getting a hint meanwhile Hikaru flushed furiously as he saw himself holding Yabu Kouta’s uchiwa.
“Saa… how’s that?”
“That doesn’t mean anything…” Hikaru firmly declared.
“Aah… actually… I don’t mind it all if you’re dating.” Hikaru’s mother calmly stated.
Yabu and Hikaru blinked their eyes.
“Aah… but I think Inoo-kun is the best choice for Hikaru-kun.” Riko commented.
“WHAT?!” Yabu exclaimed spontaneously, shocking the others. “Why do you have such thought, onee-chan?”
“Well… because Hikaru-kun likes to show us how he loves Inoo-kun.” Riko answered devilishly.
Yabu narrowed his eyes as he looked at the very blushing Hikaru.
“Ah.. Riko-chan’s right. Hikaru is likely more lovey-dovey to Inoo-chan than Yabu-kun.” Hikaru’s mother considered. “Nee… Hikaru… honestly…” She said in serious tone. “I like Yabu-kun to be my son-in-law but I don’t mind if you choose Inoo-chan instead. He’s a good boy after all. And you know I like him so much.”
Hikaru, for the first time in his life, could not find any words to his mother. Is it for real???
“So… Hikaru… whom will you choose?? Yabu-kun or Inoo-chan???” Hikaru’s mother excitedly wanted to know.
“Don’t be shy, Hikaru-kun. Don’t mind where you’re now. Just be honest.” Yabu’s mother encouraged as she saw Hikaru became so nervous.
“I-I…”
“That’s enough!” Yabu shouted in frustration. “Nee… obaa-chan,” He looked Hikaru’s mother in the eyes. “Do you really not mind if Inoo-chan becomes your son-in-law??”
Hikaru’s mother nodded. “Like what I’ve stated earlier. He’s a good boy and smarter than you.” She added jokingly. “He often visited us as his home is nearby.”
Yabu slightly pouted.
“What, Kou-chan? Don’t tell me you’re being jealous???”
“Of course I am! Hikaru is MINE!!” Yabu answered firmly and protectively pulled Hikaru to his side. “I don’t get it why all of you are being Hikanoo shippers when the other 8 JUMP members are YabuHika shippers. Why don’t you be like them in the first place???” He let out his frustration.
Hikaru smacked Yabu’s head after he felt Yabu already said what he wanted to say. “Baka!!!! What’s on your head!???? Don’t you realise what you have said?????”
“Yes, I do.”
Hikaru looked at Yabu in disbelief.
“There’s no need to hide it anymore.”
“Eh????”
“So… you admit that…”
“Yes.” Yabu responded instantly. “We’re dating for…” He hesitated to tell how long they were in the relationship. “for who knows and who cares.” He randomly ended as he could not remember how long they were together.
No one responded for awhile, trying to digest what was going on. Hikaru could only cover his face by his palms.
“So… obaa-san… ah no… let me call you okaa-san… please don’t persuade my baby Hikaru to go out with that Inoo in front of me. You know that it’ll hurt my heart so much to know that my mother-in-law prefers others than me.”
Hikaru’s mother nodded, still a bit surprised as she hardly found Yabu sounded begging to her.
Hikaru smacked Yabu’s arms, glaring at him.
“That’s hurt, Hikaru.”
“You deserve it.” Hikaru retorted.
“Nee… Hikaru-kun, is there something wrong with you until you choose my stupid brother than Inoo-kun??? You and Inoo-kun look so good together, just like when you lifted him in that DVD.” Riko complained as she was a Hikanoo shipper. “I tell you, Inoo-kun is bet-…”
“Onee-chan, stop it!!! Hikaru is MINE!! MINE! MINE!” Yabu protested like a child, wrapping his arms around the younger boy’s waist.
“But… Inoo is more suitable than you. Besides, Hikaru, himself, often stated that they’re like a couple, right? They often hang-out and chat together privately.” Riko countered. “And you two are the other way around. So rarely.”
Yabu gritted his teeth.
“And you’re such a playboy my dear brother.” Riko turned to Hikaru. “Nee… Hikaru-kun, don’t you suffer by his flirting???” Riko asked.
“W-well…” Hikaru scratched his nape. He did not know how to reply that question. Being honest, he suffered but it never changed the fact he had fallen in love with that playboy. “Yeah… I do.”
