Riko happily smiled. “Break-up already and go to Inoo-kun then.”

“Onee-chan! Why are you on Inoo’s side?? I’m your brother, not him!”

“Because I like Hikaru-kun with Inoo-kun… not with you.”

“Get yourself used to from now.”

Riko wanted to counter but stopped when she heard Hikaru’s voice.

“I’m sorry… Riko-nee…”

“What do you apologize for??”

“I-I don’t want to ruin your happiness. It’s true that I and Inoo-chan are close but I can’t see him more than my best friend.”

“See???” Yabu slightly mocked as he saw his sister was in shock. “They’re only friends.”

“How could you choose this stupid playboy Hikaru-kun??”

“Listen, onee-chan. Stop calling me ‘stupid playboy’. Although I seem like to play with others… it’s only on stage… but when I’m off stage… my heart only belongs to Hikaru not to anyone else.”

Hikaru blushed hard.

“And Hikaru is on the same boat. On stage or work, he’s every one’s… but off stage… he’s ONLY MINE.”

“What a possessive son-in-law I’ll have!” Hikaru’s mother whispered after being silent listening to the arguments.

“I’m sorry to trouble you.” Yabu’s mother spoke. “I don’t have any idea that he could be that possessive. He probably inherited from his grandfather.”

“Naa… it’s not a big deal… as long as he could make my son smile.” Hikaru’s mother assured.

Hikaru sighed seeing Riko left.

“Don’t mind her, Hikaru-kun.” Yabu’s mother soothingly said. “She just a bit upset for being wrong about your relationship. She just likes Hikaru-Inoo too much.”

“But…”

“She’ll forget about this later.” Yabu’s mother smiled. “Instead of her, why don’t we talk about the two of you, right, Yaotome-san?”

Hikaru’s mother nodded.

“Us?” Hikaru dumfounded questioned.

“Now I see, why Kou-chan often prohibits me to go to JUMP concert. You don’t want me to figure out, do you? How mean you are! I’m your mother, Kou-chan.”

Yabu looked down. “Suman, ore ga warukatta… I just waited for the right time to tell you.” He sheepishly said.

“Nee… Hika-chan… what’s actually happened that day??? How could you hold Yabu-kun’s uchiwa?? Don’t tell me you bought your own concert goodies?”

“Bought?? Are you my son’s fan??” Yabu’s mother added.

“He’s my special fan, okaa-san.” Yabu grinned happily.

Hikaru blushed. “But I-I don’t buy it. I just borrowed it from the fans.”

“Then why did you hold it with your-written-name uchiwa? Is that a declaration of love?” Yabu’s mother teased, making Hikaru’s face blushed harder.

“Okaa-san… yamete yo…” Yabu pleaded, pitying his boyfriend but his mother just chuckled.

“Did he ask you, Hika-chan?”

“No.. okaa-san… it’s just…”

“Just…” Hikaru stuttered. “Just a reply…”

“Reply??” The mothers looked each other in question.

“Since Kouta-kun showed his feelings earlier… so I thought I should do the same.”

“Showed his feelings??? What do you mean?”

“Th-that’s… when he sang his line...”

“Ah… I get it.” Hikaru’s mother happily exclaimed. “When he sang ‘Hikaru sono omoi’.. .At the part ‘hikaru’ Yabu-kun tapped his chest where his heart lies beneath it as if he wanted to tell you that you’re in his heart?” She grinned.

Hikaru looked down and Yabu looked away, avoiding the stares from their mothers.

“Aww.. my son… I never thought he could tell his feelings and his partner could understand even without words. Just simply by tapping on his chest, you could figure out.”

“That’s why we’re not like a lovey-dovey.” Yabu responded. “We already passed that phase, right, Hikaru-chan?”

A simple nod from the younger boy was an enough answer.

“But… how do you deal with the other pairings? Don’t you get jealous??”

“Sometimes… but like I stated earlier… on the stage, we’re everyone’s… but the moment we stepped out, it’s different things… I’m his and he’s mine.” Yabu calmly stated as he pulled Hikaru closer to him. “No matter how I interact with the others, I believe Hikaru has a trust on me and vice versa.” He added, looking at Hikaru who looked him back, smiling.

Yabu’s mother saw a light of determination in her son’s face.  She knew her son had already considered everything before stepping into a romantic relationship with Hikaru, so had the younger boy. She could feel the gentleness and warmth from the way Hikaru looked at her son.Shs

“So… please take a good care of my son, nee… Yabu-kun.” Hikaru’s mother said. “Or else I’ll reconsider Inoo to be my son-in-law.” She added, smiling devilishly.

“Roger, okaa-san. I’ll make sure you have never to reconsider. And please, don’t call me Yabu-kun… just call me Kouta.”

“Fine, Kouta-kun.”

“Nee… let’s start to make some food now.” Yabu’s mother suggested, exchanging a meaningful look.

“You’re right.” The latter agreed to give the boys a little time together.

And they stood up, heading to the kitchen. Before entering, they looked back to their sons. There was a sign of relief and happiness drawn on their faces. It was probably because their heavy weights already lifted up. Then, Hikaru resumed his game meanwhile Yabu continued his reading.

“Looks like they really had good times together. Time passed so fast. It’s like yesterday I saw the two of them were quarrelling over little things… and now… look at them….”

“Indeed.” Yabu’s mother saw how natural her son ruffled Hikaru’s hair when he heard Hikaru shouted ‘I’m lost!’. “So… we’re in-laws now?”

“If you don’t mind having a son-in-law like Hikaru.” Hikaru’s mother replied. Her eyes followed Hikaru’s head which landed on Yabu’s shoulder, saying ‘Let’s try again.’

Yabu’s mother smiled, seeing Yabu warmly embraced Hikaru’s shoulder to help him find a comfortable place, although the older boy did not avert his gaze from the magazine.  “Of course I don’t. Moreover, Kou-chan looks happier with him.”

As mothers, they realised their children had opposite personalities, however, their differences attracted each other and led them to acknowledge each other’s presence as a need which united them as a soul-mate.

“Sou… ja… what should we cook today?”

“Hmm… how about their favourite?”

“Jaa… let’s make it.”

Later, they had a nice meal together, of course, with Riko, therefore, Yabu should keep his eyes on his sister in attempt to assure himself that she would not try to influence Hikaru to date with Inoo.
