man, whoa.
so I just got back from seeing war of the worlds. I thought it was really good. I feel kind of half-traumatized. I think if I were like, 10, I wouldn't be able to go to sleep for a couple of hours or so. so yeah, screw you, tri-pods! breathe and die! but man, goood movie.
also kind of on that note of seeing/watching movies; I feel like I've watched more movies in the past couple days than I have in past couple months. Sunday I saw Howls Moving Castle with my dad (I've been wanting to see it since it was released, but stuff kept coming up with people, so my dad went with me then, it was really nice of him). I thought it was really good, but really weird. I would like to see it again though (would anybody wanna go?). I feel like it might be one of those movies that I only kind of like the first time I see it, but the then when I see it again, I love it more and more each time, a la Napoleon Dynamite and Singles, amoung others. then the other night I watched Lemony Snickt's A Series of Unfortunate Events. I remember hearing that it wasn't very good and Jim Carey was way over the top, but I thought it was a nice, and the only way for the movie to make sense was for Carey to be way over the top to go along with the very well behaved kids. Then, last night I watched National Treasure and Big Fish. That was the first time I had seen Big Fish, and like with Lemony Snickt's, I heard that it was kind of so-so, but I thought it was it was good. A nice and surreal story about a son reconciling with his father. also I've always really liked Tim Burton and Danny Elfman.
National Treasure was really cool to see again too; and kind of on that note, I've also read up to about 2/3 of The Da Vinci Code in the past few days. I know that might not sound like much, but thats a lot for me! really! It's really good and I recomend it to everybody. a real page turner. I don't want to give anything away if anyone hasn't read it yet, but apparently theres evidence that supports the claim that Jesus was married, had at least one kid, and the Holy Grail isn't actually a cup at all.
edit (friday) - oh yeah, maybe two weeks ago I finally saw the incredibles. I've really been wanting to see that too, and just now (friday) I just watched garden state. I liked it. it was kinda weird, but still good. -
so yeah, even if it means I won't get paid as much next paycheck, its been nice not working the past couple days. Since I've started working, it's felt like I just crawl out of bed to go to work to put-around McCarty hall making beds and vacuming all day to come home to hang out and kill time waiting till I have to go to bed to get up the next morning and do it again. like I live in my own little vacuum bubble of working all day and no-life boring-ness. I do hope all you all who actually do stuff and hangout and are busy with friends realize that you are truly very lucky. heh, I guess my life is what I've made it into... :\ These past couple days have been nice, but I think I really do need some new interests... maybe some hobbies too while I'm at it. I use to have "things", but I've kinda lost them in the past couple years... also I think I need to be more open and outgoing and willing to connect with people and friends... oh well, I'll get on it.
all in all, I guess stuff is prety good, I should get to bed soon, everybody have a good night!
