AT&T CAN SUCK MY BALLS

Hi. AT&T can suck my balls. I've been trying to get a land line, internet service, and television for over two fucking weeks now. I called for a week and spent a total of more than two hours on hold. Three times I called I was told by a machine to call back later due to heavy call volume. So I emailed corporate. I was called by two people who ( Read more... )

Did you try Roadrunner? Or Time Warner? Even if it is just for a short period?

Are you sure you need a land-line? I know it's nice in terms of call clarity, the security of knowing it'll always work right, etc. But unless you have a fax machine, it's not technically necessary in this day and age. I just use my cell phone, and it hasn't let me down yet. Having a land-line, at this point, wouldn't really serve a purpose for me.

In terms of the other stuff, I just have Comcast. I pay $45 per month for internet from them, and the cable television channels come for free. Most or all of the regular cable channels are broadcast in the same frequency range as the internet signal itself... and so they can't be turned off. The only stuff you don't get is the digital cable channels. If you really need those, then yes, you'll hafta pay out the ass. But with how little TV I watch anyhow, I'm fine just having regular cable.

Totally need a land line because I have Tivo. Plus, I need a medium cable package because I need my nerd shows, like Doctor Who and Stargate and such. Plus Law & Order.

Ahh, okay. I didn't realize that Tivo uses a land line. I'm surprised it doesn't support some sort of broadband connection, in this day and age. But that being the case, I dunno haha. As for the cable channels, it's not just local ones that I get for free. I also get all the regular cable channels as well. USA, TNT, FX, Spike, Discovery, Food Network, VH1, MTV, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, TCM, Lifetime, and the list goes on. Heck, even stuff like The Golf Channel. The only one it lacks, sadly, is Sci-Fi channel. That's one of the only two or three cable stations that Comcast keeps exclusively on Digital Cable. And digital cable you can't get for free, because they can turn that on and off from their offices at will.
