I just got finished watching Dersu Uzala, and while the film had a lot of technical problems, I feel that the story was told very well, and it got me at the end, just like all of his other really good movies, like Ikiru, or Seven Samurai. my only thought is that i hope this is released by criterion eventually... i saw it at the grand illusion here in seattle last year and would love a commentary track and to see it cleaned up a bit...

i really enjoyed the film... i'd have to give it 8 out of 10.
