I'm so glad you rec'd this fic. It's one of my favorites and I know I have rec'd it in storyroom way back when it was first completed. It was a wonderful story, for all the reasons you stated. It really needs to be in the classic H/D category. It compares to 'Foundations' and 'Reparations' for me. I've always loved this fic. Wish she was still writing in this fandom, but I think she has moved on to others
