wrt54g firmware

I'm setting up an old linksys wrt54g router with an open firmware. It's currently got the latest version of Tomato installed.

Anyone have any preferences for openwrt/etc and/or why?

While not 100% free, I use Talisman for mine. The reason is that it added the ability to use my Apple Express as a bridge (it has one ethernet port on it) and has worked wonderfully for this.

I use dd-wrt on all three of the boxes that I have, and I'll be adding at least 1 or two more here in the next 6 months. I use them mostly because the other IT person doesn't like to have to screw around with the command line, and they have a great GUI, and because they are very feature-rich. Right now, I have one deployed at our remote office as the main firewall, and handing the client side of an OpenVPN link between the two offices. I'm still struggling a little bit with the newest box at home, trying to get it to act as a wireless USB print server.
