I am a klutz. I am bad with electronics. These two facts recently combined to culminate in one event: the bathing of my laptop in a HUGE glass of water. I set my water down on my desk, then my MolGen book, which proceeded to knock over water onto said laptop. Recovery efforts failed, as the screen went black and refused to come back online. Of Hurricanes and 'Ritas
Rita's been upgraded to a Category 5, and Baylor has cancelled Friday's classes. It's very surreal, people I know from the Houston area are evacuating. Meanwhile, I'm leaving for Boston for my cousin's baby shower tomorrow morning. Chicago was awesome! Meetings w/NSLC and such went fairly well, and I really, really like the city. I'll probably change my tune come apartment hunting in November when it starts to get chilly, but for now I love it. I think I figured out why I don't ever post while at NSLC. It's such a draining job, with a ton of stressing factors, but, at least for me, there's always at least a few people that I can vent to, talk things out with. After the venting process, it's just too tiring to re-type out one's thoughts and opinions all over again. Really, my priorities ( Read more... )
