I have just finished the first marathon-read I've put myself through in ages -- fully three quarters of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, devoured by my eyes starting sometime around 1am and finished about ten minutes ago.

All of you out there who are paying attention to what I'm saying, pay extra-close attention right now:
