These kids are who? You're kidding! [Chapter 9]

Nicole covered her mouth to stop her screaming, but it did nothing to stop the screaming from behind her. She realized that her reaction had caused the boys behind her to scream and run around the room in all sorts of directions. Shindong tripped over the pallet in his rush to get himself as far from the door as possible and did a front flip before landing on his butt. Donghae ran head first into Leeteuk who let out a grunt of pain before they both went crashing to the floor. Nicole stood up and flipped the lights on before rubbing her head sheepishly.

Oops.

She turned her attention back to the door and locked eyes with her best friend Miyoung. Her eyes were slightly bloodshot, and she looked like she had been crying. Her dark long tresses were messy and strewn across her face in disarray. To be honest, she looked like the girl from The Ring.

That’s probably why Nicole practically screamed her head off a few seconds ago when she first saw Miyoung at the door. The girl looked downright scary.

“Unnie...” The girl murmured quietly before stumbling through the door.

She shut it behind her and ran straight at Nicole enveloping her in a hug. She had barely registered that she and Nicole weren’t the only ones in the room.

“Did you get my text earlier? Did you hear? Super Junior, they’re…” She trailed off as she released a sob.

Nicole sighed and gave her a pat on the back. With a hand on her shoulder, she gently ushered the girl into her kitchen before leaning her against the counter.

“Miyoung-ah. What I’m going to tell you might sound crazy, but you have to believe me. Araseo?”

Miyoung looked at her in worry before nodding slowly. Nicole took a deep breath before she continued.

“Super Junior isn’t, well, missing. Somehow they’re now little kids who are currently screaming their heads off in my living room. I don’t know how they ended up like this or why, but they are and now I’m stuck with them until I can figure out what to do.” She rambled on at full speed as she explained everything that had happened to her earlier that day.

When she finally finished, she peered at Miyoung to see her staring at her blankly. “You’re kidding right?”

Nicole shook her head sadly and led her back into the living room. How she wished she was kidding.

How she wished.

Miyoung looked pointedly at the fourteen boys in the living room as they finally calmed down. Nicole knew watching scary movies was a bad idea. Never again!

Miyoung literally stared at each of them for five minutes before turning to Nicole. “Prove it.”

Her voice was monotone and disbelieving. Sure they all look similar, but she just couldn’t be sure.

Oh hell. How was Nicole supposed to prove it? They didn’t even know who they were, what could she use to prove it.

An idea sprang in her head.

“Kyuhyun, can you do noona a favor?” She inquired.

He looked up at her and cocked his head to the side before nodding. “Sure, what is it?”

She smiled and turned on her T.V. She flipped to MBC and mentally did a cheer when she saw Super junior performing ‘It’s you’.

“I want you to listen to this song, and then I’m going to rewind it to the beginning. Can you sing it?” He looked a bit bewildered at her request, but nonetheless shrugged.

“Sure, I guess.”

Nicole knew Miyoung lived and breathed Super Junior, and Kyuhyun was the girl’s ultimate bias. She had even listened to the Christmas album he sung on back when he was a kid. She listened to it religiously admiring how cute he sang as a kid. Perfect.

He listened to the lyrics, asking her to rewind it a few times so he could pick up the words. When he was satisfied, he turned and began to sing.

Miyoung’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. She could recognize that voice anywhere. But that was impossible! How could he be…?

“Oh….my…Shisus.” She said in shock before turning to Nicole.

Nicole shrugged in response before, laughing nervously. “Told you…” Miyoung’s mouth opened wide and Nicole paled.

Before she could let out the scream that Nicole knew was coming; she roughly covered Miyoung’s mouth with her hand and dragged her back into the kitchen. Miyoung flailed her hands around wildly as she spoke quick muffled words against Nicole’s hand.

“Yah! Look, I’m going to slowly remove my hand from your mouth. You scream, yell or even utter one word and I snap you in half. Got it?” Nicole threatened.

Miyoung nodded wildly in understanding before Nicole released her. Straightening herself out, Nicole glared at her before drumming her fingers against the counter.

“Like I said, they don’t remember anything besides being kids. Their idol life, awards, the fact that there are thousands of women-and men in this world who would kill for a night with them. Nothing. Why? I don’t know, but I’m going to find out. I need your help, but I also need you to act like a sane person first.” Nicole explained.

Miyoung stood back and took her time digesting everything that she learned. Was something like this possible? Was it caused by science, or by magic? Maybe both?

“From what we know, they were on their way to the airport when they were last seen. I don’t know if something happened to them then, or before.” Nicole nodded in agreement.

“What about their manager? He should have been driving them, right? How come he doesn’t know?” Nicole questioned. Miyoung shrugged.

“Well, apparently he is missing too.” Nicole paled. They didn’t say anything about a sixteenth person being with them, so where was he?

“Maybe if we find him, then we’ll find out what happened. I’m worried, I don’t know if them getting back their memories is a good thing or a bad thing. Ten year olds with the mind of a ten year old are one thing. A ten year old with the mind of a 27 year old is another. Especially Heechul. It’ll be a disaster.”

Miyoung quickly nodded in agreement again. A grin spread across her face. They definitely needed more help.

“I say we call the old gang back together.” She suggested.

Nicole pursed her lips in thought before nodding. “I guess we will need all of the help we can get, right?”

How long had it been since all five of them were together? The other girls would be so surprised.

“We’ll call them tomorrow. For now, we need to focus on getting these guys to bed. It’s late, and I’m tired as hell.” Nicole decided before running a hand over her head in exhaustion.

Tonight they would rest, but tomorrow, they had some research to do.
