Computer help

I just bought a new monitor, flatscreen at goodwill for 35 bucks. It works fine and it's cool but the images on my computer look way more pixelated now and less smooth. How the hell do I fix this? WoW just looks off to me now. Anyone out there know?

What's your resolution set to?

If the answer is not "as high as it will go", try that. :-) If everything is too small once you've done that, you can take it a notch down -- but I really suspect your resolution is too low.

I think it already is as high as it will go. My old monitor looked right to me. This one is much brighter and things just look sort of off. It's crisp but seems a bit more pixelated.

It might just be the brand of monitor. Most LCD monitors will give you a crisp picture, but there are a few out there that still haven't compensated for the pixelation. This especially obvious in motion graphics. Siomething standing still might look nice, but the moment there is a movement onscreen the resolution goes to hell for that brief moment of hell and it looks like the moving figure wants to explode!

My suggestion would be to research your monitor and check for the scecs online when you get a chance. Maybe the manufacturer knows of a 'fix' for your problem.
