[Hijiri is sitting on the chair by the bedside with his knees drawn up, his arms round his legs and his face pressed against his knees as he cries quietly. He sniffs a bit and rubs his face against his knees before looking back at Sheik. He tries to smile.]

Hey. Sheik.

[looks down at Sheik]

What are you doing on the floor?

*Jr. had been volunteering at the clinic since the battle and had been visiting Duo every chance he got, himself. When he came in this time and saw Hijiri's state, he walked over and put his hand on the other's shoulder.* He's gotta be fine. He's too damn stubborn to die.

[looks over, eyes wet] ... what if he never wakes up...

No way in hell that's happening. *He takes his hand off Hijiri's shoulder and flicks his wrist.* Ether drive!

*Bright white light with hints of other colors in it envelop Duo for a few seconds and fade out.* You'd better not waste that.

[As much as Hisoka professes to be divorced from that house and the people in it, Hijiri is still his client. So he'll make the trip to the clinic, watching the bedside vigil in silence. It looks like a private moment, and he's not going to be the one to interrupt it.]

[It takes a while for Hijiri to notice that there's someone else in the room. He happens to look in Hisoka's direction, then quickly turns away to wipe his face first before turning back and attempts to smile.]

Hisoka. When did you get here?

Not too long. [Long enough.] When was the last time you slept?

... I've been sleeping on and off.

[colony_brat]

[Duo's going to groan as he's yelled at and then the room falls into silence. Some part of him, even unconscious really doesn't like it when Hijiri's upset.]

[He hears the groaning and is suddenly hopeful] Duo! Duo! [and shakes him a bit]

[colony_brat]

[Duo's head flops around a little since he's not going to be trying to hold it straight. He groans more and his mouth opens like he's trying to stay something but his mouth is too dry.]

[He's moving! He's waking up, right? ... he's saying something?] Duo. [He holds Duo's head steady and leans down to try to hear what he's trying to say.] What is it?
