It's been a while, but then again it's always been a while since I wrote in here whenever I muster the time and desire to do it. It's really begun to feel pointless since almost everyone I have as a friend on here has forsaken LiveJournal for Facebook or Twitter or both. I'm not really sure why, I prefer the tl;dr approach to the maximum size of ( Read more... )

I'm still one of the few holdouts against facebook. Anecdote: a friend of mine called me up to join her and some friends for dim sum. We chatted for a bit and caught up on old times, and then she asked me why I wasn't on facebook, because then it would have been so much easier for her to message me and let me know about the dim sum plans. My counter to that, "well then you wouldn't have called me today, and we wouldn't have been able to talk now would we?"

I don't mind the convenience of getting people together through invitations on facebook. It's not like I'm not ever talking to these people if I'm using that tool to invite them to some outing. :P

Carrier Pigeons.

You don't even need to worry about how to RSVP. If the recipient can't figure out to write their response on the note and put it back on the pigeon, then they're probably too stupid to find the wedding anyway.

As to FaceBook, you also have people like Rodd, who just have someone else maintain it for them.

Yea, facebook is getting out of hand!! I agree, however I am also guilty of being a user of facebook. I'm actually suprised you got that wedding invite in the mail instead from facebook. O_o;

At least I've restrained myself from ever going on twitter!! i refuse outright!

Anyways if you give me a wedding invitation I'll be expecting a wedding brick at my door, and I'll have my response brick waiting at any given time!!
