Germany has much to be proud of, great white wine (I like the really good sweet whites, not easy to find!) awesome food, cool music (new and old) funky sense of style (new and old), and hospitality!
Sure a bunch of bad shit happened under the Nazis and they played up the nationalism way too much. Because of that I think most Germans were afraid to show any national pride for fear of being seen as or associated with Nazis. The war has been over for a long time. The ones who were in charge and who did the crap a pretty much dead.
I am proud of my german heritage, and I wanted to Germany to win soooo bad, but shit happens! Next time maybe it will be Germany vs USA in the final!
PS: I really don't have a clue in soccer but the guy are cute and fun to watch! I watch sports for fun and the eye candy!
