Akutsu-sempai. You know how you said all those fics weren't real and weren't going to happen desu? How about this one?

Title: Something drastic but not really
Fandom: Prince of Tennis
Pairing: Akutsu/Dan
Dan wasn’t always thinking about Akutsu-sempai. During tennis practice he thought about tennis and some other times he thought about tennis and during lessons he thought about things like science and history and especially math, because math was very important and people should definitely pay attention during math and not do anything like skip it to do weird things with icky girls.
Anyway, the point was that Dan didn’t think about his Akutsu-sempai (and the his was important because some fanfiction was scary and those Akutsu-sempais weren’t his Akutsu-sempai) all the time but he thought about him a lot but not because he was obsessed but because he was that other thing that I can’t say because Akutsu-sempai will get mad at me desu.
So Dan liked Akutsu-sempai really really a lot and not just because he was awesome at everything. Akutsu-sempai had a way of saying “nitwit” that made Dan happy and did things like helping Dan with his history homework and not hating him for flowers and saying “I had fun too, you stupid asswipe,” and linking to nice fluffy fic after Dan got scared by some really bad stuff so was it really any surprise Dan was that-thing-I-can’t-say with Akutsu-sempai?
Only Akutsu-sempai was very stubborn with one of those martyr complex thingies like that Yuki Eiri guy only I shouldn’t have said that because my mother doesn’t know I read Gravitation, all “How you feel about me is wrong!” even after he kissed Dan and it was a very nice kiss even if Dan had no idea what he was doing and Akutsu-sempai bit him and made him bleed but the biting was actually really cool and he wouldn’t mind doing it again but that wasn’t the point. Dan tried to explain that there really was no point to what Akutsu-sempai was trying to do but Akutsu-sempai just called him crazy and maybe Dan was but that didn’t really matter.
So Dan figured he’d do something almost drastic but not really drastic like make a not really subtle declaration of that-thing-I-can’t-say.
And this is the part where the story goes two ways. In one version, Akutsu-sempai keeps doing his protecting Dan from himself thing which is maybe a little bit cute but mostly stupid and Dan is sad forever because he is going to that-thing-I-can’t-say Akutsu-sempai forever and nothing is going to change that ever. And in the other version, Akutsu-sempai realizes that Dan really does know what he’s getting himself into and that he chooses that, he really does, all of it. And they’re happy.
