I hadn't yet seen the A/N and wasn't paying enough attention to the prompt, so I laughed out loud when I hit the John Bellairs quote.

It all made me smile. (Oh, right, except for the girl getting eaten by the egg.) Which makes me think for no particular reason of the teeny tiny winged eggs in Breath of Fire.
